Team for the 2nd Test match vs WI

Look at that green pitch. What should be the team if the grass stays on? Play one extra pacer(BK/Shardul) instead of Mishy? Or same 11.

For me Mishra out binny in, would need some boost in batting. If the grass remains when match starts

We really need some part-time overs from the batsmen.  If we had a sehwag/sachin calibre part time spin option, we could play Bhuvi for Mish.  And I really want to get Bhuvi opportunities in tests outside India.

If it is a green pitch, Bhuvi can get a look in.

 

Rahul in place of Dhawan as he is better against bowlers in good bowling conditions than Dhawan. But, looks unlikely as Dhawan is everyone's favorite at the moment.

If a green track thrown at us we should play another seamer in BK.I'd drop Mishra then.

So Dhawan,Vijay,Pujara,Kohli,Rahane,Ashwin,Saha,BK,Shami,Ishant,Umesh.BK has

potential with the bat and can bowl with the new ball better than wasteful Ishant.BK and Umesh

with the new ball with Ishant and Shami backing up.Enough variety in the attack with swing of

BK,pace and movement of Umesh,Bounce of Ishant and skill and pace of Shami.

Murali vijay Ruled out of 2nd test......

Saw Virat Press conference -

• KL Rahul to replace Murali vijay
• Looks like Bowling combination will remain same. Virat and curator pointed out that grass is on pitch becoz its hot there and grass is there to hold the pitch or else it ll break. So due to excessive heat there the pitch would break there and would have turn n bounce on last days. Virat said he wants to use the right combination of pacer n spinner and he has enough pacer for 1st innings and enough spinner for 2nd innings. This pitch has a lot of bounce which would help spinners and mishra did well last time.

Looks like Rahul in place of Vijay will be the only change. Bowling attack will remain the same. Kohli's saying that there will be turn and bounce for the spinners in the second innings.

Wont include Binny regardless of how the pitch appears at the start of the game. This isn't England and I'm expecting that the grass would die out soon and wouldn't be much of a factor from day 2/3 onwards.

Binny would then be useless with his dibbly dobbly and embarrassing stuff. These artificial 'all rounders' serve no purpose
