In this Ind WI test series .Shannon Gabriel Bowled in late 140s , yet the guy is wicket less. Most West Indians Fast bowlers even the taller ones are going wicketless . Debutant KL Rahul is now playing at 150 . What is wrong with pace bowlers . or there is something seriously  wrong with Windies

All our fast bowlers have done very well as well as bowled quick.

West Indies at present don't have any good test batsmen, so it was expected that they will fall like pack of cards. but how come Indian batsmen are even playing bowlers which are bowling at 140s or even late 140s so easily.I still remember 2002 series when Windies won 2-1 .At that time they has Dillon and Cuffy. They were quite slower than these bowlers but still they troubled so many great Indian batsmen Like Tendulkar and Dravid

Only Gabriel has bowled 140 k to 150 k.   Holder and Brathwaite have bowled 125 k to 133 k and  Cummins has bowled 132 k to 142 k mostly.

Problem with Gabriel is that he rarely gets any movement and that makes him easier to negotiate.

 

Another reason is that 4 batsmen in the current team....Kohli, Rahane, Vijay and Rahul , are very good at playing pace and bounce.

But still don't you think pitches these days are not favouring fast bowlers.Sabina park was used to be considered as dreaded wicket for batsmen if tall and fast bowlers are bowling.Even several times second and third grade windies bowlers used to run through test batsmen which were considered as top class .apart from Kohli we don't even have single  batsman that is considered as world class in test cricket

Without any doubt, we are seeing flatter test pitches with more frequency, especially in Australia and the West indies.

 

Apart from Kohli....Rahane and Vijay are also considered world class test batsmen by one and all...and Rahul has shown the potential to be another one.

Indian batting is not muck now.  With Rahul doing well.. They look pretty solid now honestly.  Unless Vijay or Rahane suffer any loss of form we have 4 batters who are pretty good.. So no WI are not as bad as they are made to look here.

What the non-subcontinental teams learnt against India in the 2000s is that when you make a pace-friendly wicket, it brings India closer to them, since Indian pacers in pace-friendly conditions can challenge the AUS/ENG/RSA batsmen, while the great Indian batting lineup doesnt put up much less runs than them. Instead, on flat pitches, the superior pace bowlers from those countries can concede 300-375 against India but Indian pacers end up conceding 450-550 and then its game over for India. Hence when India tours, we see a plethora of flat pitches.

Not quite true. Take the example of Aus, prior to India touring for the LOI series this year, WI were playing the test series and the pitched then were very very flat too. Not that WI batsmen were anything great that they prepared such pitches.

WI pitches in general in the recent past have gotten slower.  Jamaica is probably the better ground in the Windies for the pacers although it offers help to the spinners as well.  Lucky for WI that a test wasn't scheduled in Guyana as the Indian spinners would have wrecked havoc there.  India would have gone in with 3 spinners there.

i remember 2006 Jamaica pitch. A slowish bowler like Collymore was unplayable.
