I still dont understand whats the purpose of an amateur team Rockstars made of filmstars ??  

Neither are they gonna become professional neither they will be good competition to other teams. 

Lack of talent? Surely not. 

Then why a team of filmstars in a professional competitions?

Yes. Named Rockstars. Captain is Sudeep, the villain in makkhi movie. Last year they included some Karnataka veterans like Sunil joshi, venkatesh prasad etc.

Yes. Named Rockstars. Captain is Sudeep, the villain in makkhi movie. Last year they included some Karnataka veterans like Sunil joshi, venkatesh prasad etc. 

This year they have 2/3 young players who didn't get picked for other teams. 

They lost all 7 last year and lost first match today by 113 runs  

Bizarre that .It only makes the mockery of the tournament and hardly gives a serious stuff feel to the league .

I suppose it was an idea to give more limelight to the league but a step way too far imo.

Yes agree. The has declined in quality ever since they were added.

Eye on Money, has to be Brijesh Patel's idea to get the crowds. KPL is played in front of empty crowds. Even TNPL - some of the small town teams are very weak. I don't know how people go to the stadium to watch it. At least for TN Junta, they don't have an IPL team for another year . So it makes sense to have some galli class teams to fight each other playing "Naaka-Mukka" type of songs and self-indulge. KPL is a bad proposition.

Don't know about Karnataka but it's easier in Tamil Nadu because there is a general tendency to Identify urself with ur region as so there was already a solid base.

Being a high income state with lot of college students (not just in Chennai) it's probably easier to build the brand

Karun Nair and Manish Pandey should be ashamed to play in this tournament if they have aspirations to play for team India....why is BCCI letting them take part in this mickey mouse tournament?
