Since when Rahane struggling with short-balls like Raina?

Thought Jinx was a good player of short balls. But looks like Suresh Raina batting there??

Looks clueless and very pedestrian. Lucky to still be not out.

This at Indore, he better be careful if he tours Durban or Johannesburg. Batting coach should pull him to the nets for special practice.

Its difficult to judge bounce in subcontinent & Eng unlike aus,Sa which has true bounce.He will get used to it just has to sync his trigger movement .

You need to seriously check his Melbourne knock where he destroyed Johnson .

Healy practically described him one of the best Non-Aussie cricketer of the short ball he has seen

If anyone should be worried about Joberg or Durban , it should be the bowlers stupid enough to attempt to bounce him out.

In our pitches it takes time to adjust to bounce of the wicket.And more importantly a quality bouncer will trouble any batsman regardless of how good he is against short ball.

Bouncer is most effective when batsman least expect it. On such a pitch, wen you dont really expect bouncers, they can surprise you. Even Vinay Kumar has surprised likes of Kevin Pietersen with bouncer in India because as a batsman you dont expect it and always looking to play forward. Also, pace and height of bouncer is unpredictable.

Rahane is a very good player of the rising short ball.

 

He is just having an off day today.  Can happen to anybody.

Arre, I saw the Melbourne knock against M. Johnson.

Which is why I am very surprised, that he looked awkward against 128-134 Neesham of all people. I was just very surprised.

Since he used to be good at playing short ball.

 

Maybe like you folks say, just an off day or off series. Hopefully he is back with a bang.

(Interesting theory abt the "Indian pitches" surprise, perhaps so).

Bounce of the pitch was one of the reasons and he looked scratchy . Batsman have such days but nothing to be worried about. 

Also he looked to have taken a different guard today so may be some adjusment

Its because of the uneven bounce, he is having these issues.....and also, as someone said, its off day for him, as well..

Rahane seems hopeless against short ball today. None the less has done well otherwise. Maybe the pitch is the one to blame. And only Rahane seems to be struggling because kohli hasn't been tested with short ball at all...
