The following are member states in the NSTC project: India, Iran, Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Oman, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Estonia. The Chabahar port on completion will be integrated withe the NTSC.The NTSC was founded by Iran,Russia and India. India, Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan agreed to use the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) for combined shipments from India to Russia starting from December this year, Vice President of Iranian Railways Company Hossein Ashuri said. "Shipments from India will be delivered to a southern Iranian port, where it will be further delivered via Azerbaijan to Russia by means of trains and trucks," Ashuri said, as quoted by the Trend news agency. He added that a test container train was shipped via the route two months ago. It took the train 22 days to reach its destination, however, the time of delivery is set to be later reduced to 19 days, Ashuri stressed. The deliveries on the INSTC route will be carried out via the territories of India, the Persian Gulf, Iran Azerbaijan and Russia toward the Nordic countries and the Northern Europe in 14 days. Nowadays, the containers are shipped from Iran to Azerbaijan by trucks and then loaded onto trains heading to Russia. chewy Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 seems to have gone un-noticed, what stuff is India planning to export to Russia and Iran, after sanctions were lifted on Iran, they were looking at cheaper agricultural import options (away from India), hopefully this route makes it cheaper to import Indian agricultural imports again

The baand Bajaa is for Padosis on their CPEC CPEC. The way they harp that its a 46bn USD investment is laughable. Most of it isnt investment but loan and Pak govt has had to give sovereign guarantees on the loans as well as Return on Investment. While 46bn may be a big amount for a small economy like Pakistan,its not that big for India,heck our defence budget is bigger.

Yup, heard Pakistan gave away one of their main motorways as collateral, soon all parts of pak's key infra from Airports to Ports will be owned by Chinese, who will charge the Pakistani locals living day lights , --> toll tax, airport passenger fees, port clearance fees etc

Turkey does.But blocking a Russian trade route will suicidal for them.Also there is another route via Georgia. Russia and Iran are discussing a trans caspian canal. No one is going to upset their own apple cart for Pakistani. Lets be honest here,while India and Pakistan relations is a zero sum game.Other nations relations with either countries isnt.

Chabahar will be key to this project : currently Bandar Abbass is the only major port of Iran (it handles like 85% of its cargo), is stupidly congested and it can't handle container ships there are more than 100 Kilo Tons. Russia is the big daddy of that region and no one is going to block its trade route,not Turkey and not a former USSR state.
