My favorite Srinath moment like you described would be Srinath getting Hudson and Kirsten of first two balls in the innings and making it 0 for 2 for South Africa

Same for me .He absolutely ripped them up that day .

Yes, it did happen twice. Here is the one I was talkig about where Kirsten was not involved but it was Hudson and Cullinan. The other one must be in full game highlights where it was Hudson and Kirsten both involved and score was 0-2.

My favourite Srinath moment would be Srinath taking 13 wickets in the match against Pakistan in which Wasim and Waqar struggled to take 4-5 wickets. He was clearly bowling express and much faster than the two, and bowling better. Only Shoaib bowled faster than him. This was in 98-99 series.

 

Also, I think a Pakistan XI should have  Shoaib Akhtar. Akhtar may not have the stats of Waqar, but his pace was terrifying and Indians are known to be shaky against that kind of pace. To be fair, Waqar was only unplayable in the first 3-4 years of his career. After that, he was just a little over average. He was above average but not a world beater.

not really. It is amazing how perception can make a player look what he wasn't. Srinath was/is our best fast bowler ever at home, averages 26. While Zak averages 35 at home, 31 overseas. Srinath even has a better overall test average despite him being not playing too many tests when he was at his peak pacewise.

Zak is not even close to Srinath in test at home. He had such an impact. Srinath won us matches on his own at home. His 8/86 against Pak and 6-fer against SA are two of the best spells bowled by any Indian fast bowler at home.

Not really dude. Srinath definitely has been the unsung hero and also India's best ever. However, Zak, as a left hand fast bowler would be amongst the top 10 left arm pacers of all time. He was a treat to watch.

Away from home, the attack should probably include Chandra, as in bouncier wickets especially his style of bowling was more of a threat right?

Away from home, the attack should probably include Chandra, as in bouncier wickets especially his style of bowling was more of a threat right?
