We will rotate them, 2020 is out of question as young guys should play usually. This thread was made right befor Champions trophy or few series before that so that we could look for the BBS attack in CT. But BBS should play in major tournaments. BBS in world cup 2019 should be on if Shami is fit. Also no harm in throwing Bumrah in at least one test in South Africa. Or at least try BBS attack in the Delhi test next week.

Yeah and may be couple more to have apook because all need to be rotated. To start with ODi’s and t20 Siraj, Rajpoot, Thakur, Thampi, Khejroliya for Odis and t20s. I will also try to bring in Sangwan but then guy did not play at all this year so will have to wait on this one For test - Many options from Aaron, Siraj, Saini, Aniket, Sandeep(for England only) Nathu Singh and Sudeep Tyagi. I had to put Nathu Singh since he might be ready by the time England tour comes.

Will probably be back by List A and T20 SMA trophy tournaments. Two other guys I would like in the fold are Lalit Yadav giving him India A gamed and then especially Ishan Porel, he has something extraordinary about him. I would pick him for SA just for the exposure as Ranji trophy will probably be over by the time we tour SA and he is anyway not being allowed to play current Ranji trophy round as he has been picked for U19 challenger trophy starting from tomorrow.

We can try them. No harm. We played Porbandar Express in South Africa, we should surely try an upcoming talent and make him learn. Problem is Kohli and Shastri must be told that there is a young guy who can bowl fast and he needs to be seen in the nets. Unless henis seen in the nets and bowling in front of them or on games which are shown on tv, he won’t get picked. Other than few fans, no one watches Ranji trophy online. They don’t know what this guy can do or can become. Need to back these guys.

Ganguly has been very appreciative about Porel and he is the only person who can do that or someone like Bhajji who just saw Porel in the last Ranji round taking a 5-fer against his team.

A lefty tall guy like him should be tried in ODI’s in South Africa.

Yes, former players view matter a lot and if they can pass their suggestions to management then great. If any of these prospects can perform well in SMA trophy then it makes it more easier for then to be selected since lot of selectors come to watch certain t20s to check out on IPL prospects.

Khejroliya is practically in his first season and is still a rookie and looking at tendency by this management to not pick rookies, Sangwan for me is a better option, atm.

Yes Sangwan too. Sangwan should have been tried by now if not for injury. But he hasn’t played much so don’t think he will be picked anytime soon. Plus after rehab it will take some time for him to find his feet again. Hopefully he plays the whole limited over season for Delhi and impress the selectors. Don’t think selectors will pick right away.
Forever Indian Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Somehow don’t feel Sangwan is international material after seeing him in a few domestics and IPL. Has the pace but seems to not bowl right line and length.

express bowling Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 (edited) TESTS Shami-Bumrah-Bhuvi in test matches outside Asia and green-tops in Asia. Backup Porel - Ishant - Umesh. Shami-Umesh in other test matches in Asia. Backup Bhuvi -Porel ODIs Three of Bumrah-Bhuvi- Shami- New pacer ... by rotation in ODIs outside Asia. Two of Bumrah-Bhuvii- New pacer by rotation in ODIs in Asia. Shami-Bumrah-Bhuvi in 50-over World Cups. Backup New pacer. T20Is Bumrah-Bhuvi in World T20s. Backup New pacer. New pacer 1 - New pacer 2 in all other T20Is General Develop a few new pacers with wicket-taking ability and pace .... my picks .... Siraj, Porel, Thampi, Avesh, Khejroliya. ( Do away with mediocrity and pick the ones who can really make it big ) This would allow sufficient rest to all pacers while playing the best pacers for every format. Yes,also would like to see Nathu and Sudeep Tyagi what they can offer. Nathu is not playing but thenonly game I watched Sudeep Tyagi, he seems to be putting the hard yards and bowling well with decent pace. I am sure he is someone who can be tried eventually. express bowling 1

Has the pace but seems to not bowl right line and length. Problem in IPL is that there is lot of pressure to perform in limited opportunities and that too in the worst format dor the bowlers - twenty20. Bowlers end up trying too much. Players like Thampi, Sangwan will look totally different in a 50 over format since they can be used in spell of 4-5 overs unlike t20s where bowler bowls one or two overs and just when he is starting to find the momentum, he has to be removed so that his overs can be used later in the death. Thats the drawback of t20/ipl. As a bowler you want to bowl at least 4-5 over spell as fast bowlers geneally get better by the 8-10th ball whoch they have bowled as by that time they are fully warmed up and in the rhythmn and that is when they also start picking up their speed. So 50 overs is where I believe Sangwan and Thampi woll deliver better.
chewy Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 For Aus tour, India really need to get one or two tall 140 kph+, 6’ 4” plus Ishant Sharma’s return has been promising but need backups, can only think of Ishwar Pandey, not sure how he is progressing with pace
