The Eden Gardens pitch, Good or Bad for team India?

The pitch at Eden Gardens was relaid in 2015.Since then we have seen the pitch have pace,bounce and movement.We need pitches like this to prepare our players for overseas tours.

 

But a counter view could be that we play into the oppositions hand by laying out such a pitch.

Swinging much more under lights

Its a dead match so no big deal.Have to see how this pitch behaves in coupleof years after it settles.

 

If it continues to behave like ,very good experience for our domestic cricketers

Even England pitches don't swing and seam as much.. but nice to have such contrasting conditions within the country.. I'm enjoying it..

I hear they imported soil for this pitch.This will not die down soon.

Kiwis pretty much bounced them out in both ODIs and tests from the highlights I saw lol

 

And Bangladesh didnt play any wicket with pace either.Would have been hopping and fending off on this wicket

Good that we won the series already before playing here - else you'd have a lot of wrist slitters whining about the pitch.

Well its a UnIndian pitch.

It is giving our batsmen and bowlers practice when the ball is seaming, bouncing , swinging, zipping..... getting them ready for alien conditions

 

Good to have one or two such venues

Very good pitch,need to play 4 pacers on such kind of pitch.no I way this was a 320 type pitch,poor bowling from both sides

Need more wickets like this in India, cricket without threatening fast bowlers can get boring
