Is Saha good enough as a keeper to be in XI despite very poor batting?

He is not the best wk/bat ever for India, but he is still the best as of now. He should be persisted for next 2 years. But its time to groom another keeper and give him a chance in low profile series here n there. Bangladesh test was a great opportunity to see that but unfortunately it did not happen.

Some basics of cricket remain the same......If India was in Aussie position in the first test in Aus-we could have had a bigger chance of losing the game because Aussies grab every half chance that come their way and we drop even straight forward ones.

If Pant is even 80% of the keeper Saha is and given he looks like a world beater with the bat-sure all up for it.

but look at the pitches in this series.....can't risk it yet.

You know I have realized that majority of the ASIAN countries have this problem, drop straight forward catches. This is more apparent and visible in pakistan team.  Apart from few, desi players are like princesses, don't want to dive, don't want to take half volley chances, etc.

The biggest reason Australia could compete so well is due to catching. Unlike England who dropped as many catches as India did, Australia have been better in that aspect especially in the first game where we dropped 5 catches of Smith alone and let him score a 100.
