Should've been first name on the sheet right since first match. For him not to have bowled a single ball in the trophy is the biggest blunder in recent times.

Had he been match fit , presumably would have played from the start. He bowled well ish Vs nz in warm up, something must have not been 100 pcent for India to drop him

The whole ICF was shouting out to have Ashwin replaced by Shami (or atleast Umesh) for this match. Looks like Kohli had too much hespect  for Ashwin to drop him!!

Batting first after winning the toss in a finals like this is the main reason. The second one is going with that extra spinner. Should have been one of Shami or Umesh in place of Ashwin. What do you guys think who influenced these decisions - Kumble or Kohli? Whoever made that call is an idiot.

you should listen to ashwin interview post sa game,he was like he thought he was always a certainty and didnt know why he was dropped

I was saying from the beginning that India should play a pace quartet consisting of 4 of our best seamers and only 1 spinner with Pandya the all rounder at 6. This would've been the attack of the tournament capable of knocking out any team. But instead we went with 2 spinners and 2 seamers who are not wicket taking bowlers, rather bowlers who are good at the death and middle bowlers(without swing Bhuvi can only contain and be economical).

Even before the tournament he said he is working on new variations to try out during CT. Assumed his spot.
