sourab10forever
He should realize that rajya shabha is no BCCI and he should respect that. He has retired and has no excuse to miss it for so long. He is always in London for holidays but has no time for the countries most important legislative body. Give up your seat if you can't attend. surajmal
Legacy going down the drain the more he shows his face in public. Should have taken a hiatus from public eye for a few years after retirement and that aura around would have stayed. Now people are finding out that he is just like any other self absorbed celebrity. velu
Temujin Khaghan
He is a normal man with genius cricketing ability in batsmanship. Anyone expecting him to be anything more is being unrealistic. But I feel if ganguly, Dravid or Kumble were given such a chance at Rajya Sabha, they would have made a mark. Gollum
He has been such a big letdown in public life, hasn't he? Great batsman, that's it.

That has been clear for 2 decades now. SRT's single minded focus on his batting since childhood means he never got a chance to develop other aspects of his personality (lack of an education doesn't help matters either). No one is expecting him to do something extraordinary. Attending Rajya Sabha doesn't take much effort. That's the least you could do you respect the houses. You could say that expections are higher if he was asked about number of questions he has asked and why he is not raising issues there.
Trichromatic
India should impose a minimum attendance requirement and if members fail to meet them then they should be disqualified.

Heck he can win a chunk of seats in the next TN assembly elections if he can learn some Tamil and shifts to Chennai. dhoni and to certain extent saurav have something which sachin, Dravid don't and that is charisma. A very important quality for mass leaders. Also he isn't seen as someone with a short fuse like virat kohli. Emotionally very matured person. velu and Sidhoni

Texan
Read somewhere that the government expenses on him and his low attendance is such that the spend per session he attends comes out to 2.5 lakh Rupees or something in that range. Seems like he wants to bring this to below 2 lakhs. Has he even asked any questions or contributed in any discussion or just warmed the bench when he showed up? velu
