zen
Based on current info: Fri: Sunshine; breezy in the afternoon Sat: Sun mixing with clouds, a t-storm late in the p.m.; thunderstorms can bring hail and damaging winds Sun: A morning shower or thunderstorm around; otherwise, considerable clouds; cooler Mon: Partial sunshine; pleasant If we have to plan based on weather: Bat as much as possible in the 1st inning Don't put yourself in a position where you have to expose yourself to Aus pacers in cloudy conditions in 2nd innings If it rains, our spinners could be relatively less effective. The two pacebowlers are not workhorses so their load would need to be managed properly unless they are on fire and clean up Aus quickly Next 5 Next 5 Days TODAY JAN 4 30° /24° Sunshine; breezy in the p.m. More SAT JAN 5 34° /19° A t-storm late in the p.m. More SUN JAN 6 23° /20° Cooler; a morning t-storm More MON JAN 7 25° /21°C Partial sunshine; pleasant Edited January 3, 2019 by zen Link to comment

putrevus
making them follow on is a must. Why is it must. They already have bowled 90 overs.I would bat for 25 overs and set 500 target.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment

putrevus
There won't be much time to set a targetWinning is a plus not mandatory. If they enforce follow on they are bringing loss into equation however small it might be.If they knock them over in first session then I would bat again for one session.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment
R!TTER
If we knock them over early then it makes no sense not to enforce the follow on, it's only when they've scored & survived probably till tea that we'll have to bat a second time. We aren't losing this test, not unless Aus get us A/O for under 100 in the second innings & even then it's a tall ask given time is not on their side. Link to comment
Straight Drive
Enough of these weather forecasts. Last test it was said there was 80 percent rain chance on day 4. We did not lose even one ball on Day 4. It was also said rain chances were 60 percent on Day 5. We lost 10 overs? Perhaps rain is falling after match time ? Link to comment
velu
if our bowlers are tired then we shld give them some break .. Link to comment
Dil Dil India
Secure the series - don't make them follow on. Just bat, bat and bat. Don't grind down Bumrah and Shami in WC year for a series that has already been won. ThePhenomenal1 1 Link to comment
ThePhenomenal1
Yeah why tire our bowlers out? Bat again till just before end of day 4, get 450 on the board and thats it. aussies will be demoralised knowing they’ve lost the series. Then go for the kill. rtmohanlal
seems it is worth taking a risk and asking them to follow on ... considerable time already lost ... Almost sure of some more time getting lost due to rain/bad light ..Means even if AUS bats a 2nd time, to score at least 500 runs for the loss of 14 wkts would be a herculean task for them in the available playing hours in the midst of these bad weather. That means even if they put on 500 runs(chances of which is the least) they can only set a target of 114 runs for India. India can easily play out for a draw if such a miraculous thing happens. rtmohanlal
seems this weather interruption is a blessing in disguise to ensure enforcing follow on. That means not only do the bowlers get adequate rest in between , but the batsmen's rhythm at the crease in general will be disturbed too. Edited January 6, 2019 by rtmohanlal Link to comment
express bowling
With so much break available to our bowlers due to rain ... we should try definitely enforce the follow on. Link to comment
Jamadagni
2-1 sounds a closely-fought series whereas 3-1 sounds a more dominant one for India. India should win this match. Link to comment
