Yes, agreed. The number 7 position for WK in tests is more so that they can rest up after a full day or two of keeping which is not an easy job. If you are looking for quick runs, then it's fine. But expecting the Keeper bat to then bat out many overs is going to take it's toll on the body. There are two scenarios that will happen: 1) Pant will lose concentration due to to the tiredness and play a rash shot (or) 2) Play a shot which he is capabale of but lose shape or power due to the tiredness This is the reason historically WK bats have averaged Low (than batsmen) and bat low down the order. Likes of Sangakkara for example gave up Keeping when he started batting up the order.
