Indeed he is a brilliant journalist. And that is why if he had to be given a post then it would have made sense that the post be in the journalistic field - maybe as a director of a journalism school or in Prasar Bharti etc.
It is not necessary for a member of the board to be an expert in the field in which the company operates. The functions of the Board involve regulating the business and ensuring that the CEO is acting in a responsible manner and ensuring shareholder interests are protected. To give you an example, former Vice President of United States - Al Gore Jr serves on the board for Apple. What qualifications does he have in designing computers or electronic gadgets?

FirstPost forced to remove articles critical of top BJP leaders ?

Why is Firstpost Being Asked to Refrain from Criticising Three Top Leaders from the BJP ? On 2 August 2015, Firstpost—an Indian news website that comes under the Network18 group, the Reliance Industries-owned media conglomerate—removed an article written by the website’s editor-in-chief R Jagannathan, titled,"GST, Land Bill on Hold: Modi May Have to Rethink Jaitley as Finance Minister." In his article, Jagannathan took note of the BJP’s predicament and argued that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) bill that the party was attempting to push in the parliament would only add to its problems. Terming the GST bill an example of “the finance ministry's weak response to the emerging economic situation,” Three or four days after the article first went live, Jagannathan had a meeting with some of the board members of Network18. According to Lakshmi Chaudhry, the former executive editor and co-founder of Firstpost, “a diktat was issued in that meeting that from now on there will be no criticism of certain political leaders. " ....this directive stated that the website could not carry any criticism of “the big three” in the BJP. No story published on Firstpost could upset the BJP’s troika
A couple days later the Executive Editor and Co-Founder Resigned from her post . Mr.Jagannathan , the ever loyal modi cheerGirl , did not have the courage to comment . http://www.caravanmagazine.in/vantage/why-firstpost-being-asked-refrain-criticising-three-top-leaders-bjp#sthash.XFU1ckbt.pGFGIsbG.dpuf

Paid news : Did the Ex-CM of Gujarat arrange Advts from ESSAR for Sunday Guardian (Editor : MJ Akbar , now Rajya Sabha MP and spokesperson of the BJP ) in exchange for favorable news coverage ? From the affidavit filed before the Supreme Court in the Essar leaks case :

The chief operating officer of the newspaper Sunday Guardian wrote to Essar on 20.12.2011 that the newspaper would bring out a supplement on Gujarat. His email states: “Hon’ble Chief Minister is designated as the Economic Reformer of India, in the mould of famous architect of economic reform of China, Paramount Leader ‘Deng Xiaoping’. We will also be highlighting that Chief Minister Mr. Narendra Modi will one day transform India into an economic superpower… Our Managing Director- Mr. M J Akbar has personally written a letter addressed to Mr. Shashi Ruia, requesting the authorization of advertising Essar Group can highlight its substantive achievements in 4 pages within the supplement at a total cost of Rs 22,88,880 net.” 9. The same officer of Sunday Guardian wrote to Essar on 21.12.2011 stating: “Further to my email below, please find attached the letter of support from Government of Gujarat. We look forward to Essar Group’s participation in this special supplement.” Enclosed with the said email was an official letter from Government of Gujarat of the same day stating: “We are pleased to learn that ‘The Sunday Guardian’ Delhi’s ‘Sunday’ newspaper is publishing a special supplement on Gujarat. This supplement will highlight the phenomenal progress our state has achieved under the leadership of Honorable Chief Minister, Shri Narendra Modi 10. On 02.01.2012, Essar’s Senior V-P wrote to Essar Chairman: “…we had politely declined the offer to release an advertisement from Sunday Guardian. However, we have received a call from Mr. Narendra Modi’s Secretary to support this issue and release an ad. Please advise.”... This shows that the office of the Chief Minister was seeking favours from Essar, a corporate group with which it had official dealing, in order to promote the image of the then Chief Minister

AAPtard -- with handful of functioning brain cells -- cannot understand the meaning of "news". The subject of the said affidavit is an declared ADVERTISEMENT for highlighting the progress of Gujarat, the release of which the Gujarat government naturally wanted to support (not wasting tax payer money by the way). Paid news is what a leading (slightly balding ex hack-reporter whose last name reminds one of a noisy fan) figure in AAP did on behalf of Essar. Kindly focus on that.

The affidavit filed in SC regarding Essar leaks case , is from the blog of Center for Public Interest Litigation (CPIL) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centre_for_Public_Interest_Litigation CPIL was perhaps the first to file a suit in the Supreme Court against the UPA Govt on the 2G Scam. They were represented by prashant bhushan .

Why is the media so silent on Delhi Assembly not introducing Jan Lokpal Bill? It was such a big issue at one time that one political party rose to prominence in a city-state thanks to it. Now, suddenly nobody cares about it any longer?!!

According to that modi cheerGirl who wrote the article : Some people exercising their right to free speech (not rumors) = "Intellectual Terrorism " + "planting Landmines" .
Some joined government bodies, research councils, NGOs, media, universities and so on. While some were planting landmines in the ground in tribal areas – the warfront, some were planting landmines in news, views, opinions and therefore, in people’s minds. These people are generally known as liberals.
this generally and widely acknowledged Id1ot is 100% accurate with his generalities . :haha:

Bingo. The reason for my not posting is same, the only difference is, I would have quoted the idiotic post above Mishrajee too. Just to somehow prove that I am sensible and not biassed poster. Regularly using the word cheergirls for huge percentage of population of this country and most of the members of this forum never raised your eyebrow. What Mishrajee did was just Action & Reaction.
