With Cricketers constantly playing all the time I don't know how teams will prepare anyway. There maybe some attrition due to IPL. I can already see a scenario where this injury make Kohli miss IPL fully and then he may not continue his golden run

This is very true.  VK has been good in tests, but more from a pre-game strategy perspective.  He's got a lot to learn on on-field tactics and game management.

If English ODI series was any indication, we are in for a rough time at CT. Then again most players were out of form in that series. Hopefully, in CT everyone will be playing their best and make up for the nonsense captaincy of Kohli in ODIs.

I've written time and again on the need for a batting strategy and tactics overhaul by the Indian team.  More than a personnel issue, its a mindset issue.  We are not as pro-active in the 1st 15 overs as we need to be.  Especially with Rohit "I play as many dots as Ganguly used to in the 90s" Sharma opening.
