Is India underprepared for Champions trophy?

Don't tell me that IPL is their prep for Champions.. 

Will India go early to have couple of practice matches b4 June 4th? 

IPL get's over on May 21 and not enuf time for the team to get together in India b4 they depart. 

SA is playing England, Pakistan, SL, Bangla are also having trial one-day series. NZ just finished against SA

Most of our first choice ODI players like Kedar Jadhav ,Dhoni,Yuvraj,Dhawan,Bumrah,Shami were involved in Vijay Hazare and Deodhar trophy.

 

And along with them ,others like Kohli , Rahul,Ashwin Yadav and Jadeja will play plenty of IPL too.

 

So tiredness is a bigger worry than being underprepared for Champions trophy.

i rather take chances with Rohit than Dhawan.. Don't want to se Dhawan.. With Nehra, Bhuvvi, Yadav, Bumrah.. doubt whether Shami would be in. Would like to see D.Karthik as backup keeper based on his recent form

IPL is a bit of double edged sword. It can go either way.

Shami is our first choice bowler in All formats .Along with Bumrah in ODIs .

 

Nehra is only a T20 option .

Doesn't matter. With deadweights like Yuvraj and Dhoni we are at max going to the semis where Aus/Eng/NZ will pound us into submission.

i would like to see the progress of kuldeep in this IPL and i am sure, he will have a big role to play in champions trophy, if picked

BTW this time there seems to be lot more fuss about CT. Last time around as well we went to CT after IPL, last ODI series we played before that CT must have been more than 3 months ago, tried a new opening combination straight in the tournament etc.

CT is grossly over rated. I wouldn't even care about it if it doesn't exist. Neither I rate CT won except for few initial years when it began.

Not underprepare i just feel home series against eng has put our weakness under the carpet

 

1. Opening Combo still unsure- ok that was also last time

2. Yuvraj singh- When ever i see his stance i fear a 150k bowler will york him or square him up so bad. His fielding has gone down to and he doesnt bowl much. If his batting doesnt click we ll have huge liability

3. Fielding- Kedhar, yuvraj, ashwin, mishra, bumrah can create fielding issues

4. Dhoni- His idea of starting off late can backfire. His startegy worked in 2005 of taking 1st 15 bowls but wont work now 

5. Ashwin- If he going through sports hernia well im scared for his form

6. Kedhar is untested overseas. 

7. Who is our middle order backup option- Rahane....****, Manish....not in form, Raina.....no way, Dinesh karthik....international choker, KL ......might be

8. Mishra will crumble under pressure i fear

 

 

The only bright side i see- If shami , bhuvi , bumrah are fit we could have bloody good bowling line up . Add jadeja, pandya, ashwin this bowling attack wont be easy to score and the death bowling would be outstanding. 

 

Honestly i dnt see a gr8 chance there

imo it  depends on the pitches,if we get similar pitches to the Ct held there last time we are going to demolish every team.If we see  really flat wickets we are toast,we cant keep up with australia and even england.

Kuldeep should be a part of this squad. He can be our trump card in CT.

Agree our ODI team is going nowhere with players like Yuvi, Dhoni,Dhawan and inexperienced players like Kedar and Manish. Bowling is OK. Every department in batting has issue. Be it openers, middle order or sloggers.

As much as i want it, i dnt see it happening. Mishra will go......unless an injury happens
