Thampi is still very raw. He is bowling like Aron. Few Jaffa's followed by hit me free. tweaker, speedheat and Ultimate_Game 3

He is bowling like that because of this t20 format. Bowling longer spells in 10 over game will only make his bowling better. I think he is ready to be tested, of course not the finished product but then no one is that way, you become better after playing 1-2 series of 50 overs cricket, so post CT is the time to start picking him and give him games, o by the time next year starts, he is a "go-to" bowler of India in 50 overs with Bumrah.

Just to get a feel of things. Still a long way to go to be in ODIs to be honest beetle 1

And also Bumrah and Bhuvi take two slots regularly in t20s so it is much hard for him to get in to t20 side. He is raw but not that bad for 50 over side, sometimes giving them some chance for India can make them better and someone like Thampi can only learn from experience at international level. tweaker 1

But the same can be said for all young talents. I think he needs atleast one more full season of domestics before being considered for India games. Otherwise he will just come and go out of team like Sran. speedheat 1

Sran got injured and hence he has been out, with Thampi, we can try him for one or two games out of 5-7 ODI series against Australia, will do his confidence world of good.
speedheat Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Screw all, Thampi needs to make debut soon for India in 50 overs. His line and length shows he needs to be drafted in for 50 overs side. Even if he goes for runs, who cares, he has the game to succeed at that level. Nathu singh , rajpoot and siraj are all ahead of thampi, thampi still needs to polish his new ball skills he needs to add that fast out swing ball in his armory, at the moment he is just wayward and bowls short with trundling pace with new ball, no doubt his death bowling is good but you can't get the direct entry on that aspect alone. Agree on this. Atleast Nathu Singh and Rajpoot are ahead of him as of now. Let him develop his skills in on easy more domestics season and play him in all the Vijay Hazare and Deodhar trophies. speedheat 1

Mosher Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 Aaron bowled well today and picked up 2 wickets. Could have had one more wicket if not for the dropped catch. Pace wise Aaron was slow today with a lot of deliveries in the mid 130's. Maybe that was because of the slow nature of the pitch. speedheat, CG and MK55 3
