One T20 for a 20 year old kid with a backup Indian team captained by Raina isn't something based on which you can make a judgement. Give him a couple of series (6-8 odis) to see what he can do. Surely Sandeep's consistent performances across all levels deserve as much He has delivered across multiple IPLs during PP on pattas. Surely he would've been found out if he was as shyte as the others you mentioned. It's not as if he hasn't faced decent batsmen in IPL. He must be doing something right for him to have consistently outperformed much faster and taller bowlers. I'm telling you this is Jadhav situation once again but this time on the bowling side. Even if i take ur logic of IPL Well the format is diff Odi's n t20 Here he can bowl he 4 overs with new ball and his job is over. In Odi there is a 2nd spell what will he do then HE knws he has to bowl 4 overs so all bowlers bowl a lil quicker, In odi he has to bowl 10 n field 50 overs. Pace wnt be same The Same international batsman will bat with different intensity in International cricket and they ll be at both end IPL doesnt give a complete true picture...... Investment shud be made on someone who can last long term and has needed skill set for the format. For Odi Sandeep is one dimensional so no point investing in it. Some one like sandeep was praveen kumar and he didnt last long. Even bhuvi had to improve a lot to keep hi place Edited May 5, 2017 by Ankit_sharma03 express bowling 1

Vaas was SL best option, here we have 10-15 bowlers coming up bowling at good pace Batsman these days will make a mockery of his bowling on flat decks. We already have bhuvi . Shami takes wkts in powerplay, umesh might leak runs but does take up wkts at start Also again did u see shami record, m shocked how ru excluding ur most complete bowler. His fitness has been an issue but why wnt u play him if he is fit . Talking about vaas, well more then Sandeep we need a left armer. Sran has potential to cover all bases but need some work and then their are potentials like Sanghwan, kulwant for LOI. or We can try another bowler who has complete skill set like Nathu singh or we Rajpoot is also a better option, as he has better height , bowls good line n length with pace andg gets extra bounce. He might do well in the beginning but once teams sought him out he doesnt have extra skills to cope with it. Then he ll be treated the same way once jayasuria treated our swing n so called highly intelligent bowler manoj prabhakar . Or even how bhuvi was taken to cleaners in 2015 by Sa for more then 100 runs. Gone are the days where one dimension bowlers wud work LOI's. Game has evolved leaps n bounces.....and the answer lies in ur comparison that u didnt even find a current bowler for comparison At the moment it's all speculation how poor Sandeep will be. I'm sure same was said during his u-19 days and later at domestic level and I'm sure nobody expected him to do much in IPL as well. But he has always managed to consistently out-perform more vaunted players. Unless he is given an opportunity to prove his detractors right or wrong, we will never know.

Not saying he is bad, but the need of the present game has changed About u-19 he bowled and did well , but many have done that. His batch also had chand, harmeet singh where are they Hope u rem 2005 u-19 where a pak bowler anwar ali destroyed our batting that included Rohit n Pujara. How ordinary is he now. Same 2005 Wc had Chawla who was considered another future gr8.........googly daalne wala bowler reh gaya No one said on domestic level, our domestic cricket is ruled by trundlers Opp arent given they are earned......and he has a huge line ahead of him. U think if he was the one needed by Indian team , they cud have called him along with thampi n aniket to practice with team. More then sandeep type bowler , if shami fitness is an issue we need to find someone like him. Who can bowl quick, take wkts with new n old ball, has good sharp bouncer. Or a left armer which is really needed to have variety in attack Mosher 1

What if one of ur main bowlers also has an off day .........3 overs + more overs to cover.

Only Sandeep from that group performed at domestic level and in fact did so at IPL level. Where others were found out, Sandeep kept on performing and that's why he deserves a chance based on his consistent performances over the years.
speedheat Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I know that and I don't take this banter seriously at all It's all fun and TBH this is one of the reasons I come on here. If everyone agrees with you then what's the point of a forum? But to me Sandeep deserves a run with the actual Indian team under Kohli for a couple of series. If we can give lkes of Dinda, Vinay Kumar, Sran and company a few games, surely Sandeep deserves a shot as well. You never know he may surprise us all the way i was watching him in the u-19 WC Sandip just not good enough, he is still that old u19 bowler who relies more on conditions, he has to improve his pace accuracy death bowling skills etc at the moment he is far far far away from selection well he has the example of bhuvi before him, rest is all his hard work ,we have thampi, nathu ,siraj, rajpoot, sangwan, aeron thakur all ahead of him by miles in terms of ingredients. express bowling 1

Yes he does relies on conditions if there is no swing in offer he gets hammered eg. Sunli marine tore him apart in Kolkata. If statistics was the only base of selections then we would have Krishna das rishi dhawan etc. Opening the bowling for us [emoji4] but hey!! good thing is bowlers are now getting chance based on merits and not by blindly following their statistics. Sandip is good but not good enough for internationals he is still 23he can still improve best of luck to him. maniac and express bowling 2

Else I can say Umesh was found out when Pant hammered him all around or Shami was found out this IPL or Cummins was found out against Pollard or Bhuvi was found out against Dhoni. Nature of the beast in T20 is that bowlers will occasionally be hit around. That's inevitable. Key is how often does happen? So far Sandeep has shown over the last 3-4 IPLs that he's one of the best, if not the best, Indian pacers in the PP. He has done it consistently over the years and that needs to be acknowledged and rewarded. If you still think Sandeep's performance has been similar to Krishna Das, Rishi Dhawan or some such, either you haven't followed Sandeep's performance over the last few years, or you don't really care how he performs and you have already made up your mind on whatever basis that Sandeep isn't good. In either case don't see any point in debating further. Edited May 6, 2017 by Ultimate_Game

I couldn't access it yesterday????, ok First of all IPL performance is not only the base of selection otherwise we would have bhajji gamby uthappa making come back and yes lol umesh has been found out way back in 2012 but he has taken his game to another level and is stud now in test matches and in Odis will be soon too, but fact remains the same, sandip is way too limited its not the only game for sandip in which he was found out, he was battered by KKR and srh too also failed miserably vs zimbok in his debut I know its not good to judge him with only two match experience but he still showed the signs of what's coming to the selectors in that series, so why waste time on someone who has low ingredients and not a "lambi race ka ghoda"?? express bowling 1
Nikhil_cric Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I'm not a fan of the IPL but if it's Sandeep Sharma who is being talked about, I don't think he will ever be international standard. Does not have the height or the pace to trouble batsmen. He can be tried in T20's at best. speedheat, Mosher and express bowling 3

Among the new pacers, Md.Siraj, Nathu Singh and Basil Thampi have combined pace/bounce with skills.... and look international material. Ankit Rajpoot and Pradeep Sangwan are close too. Kulwant Khejroliya, perhaps the quickest uncapped pacer in India, performed tremendously well in the 50 over VH Trophy. But has not got a single game in this IPL from the MI management. These lads need to be fast tracked and given chances to prove themselves at a higher level or we will never compete against the likes of Australia with the quality of bowling they are coming up with.
