Ashwin is the most overrated bowler ever.

for someone who came in limelight because of ipl,he is very average in odis and t20s

He was never good to begin with. On a rank turner he is too much to handle. That's why his test stats in subcontinent are great. But in shorter formats where pitches are mostly flat and overseas conditions, he has been found wanting.

Does anyone know when the two new ball rule was made in ODIs? That rule took spin and reverse spin out of the equation on most pitches.

I wonder how much of Ashwin's career was under old rules and how much under the two new ball rule.

Zubaan  ka kuch issue nahi ...  Phir se padho ..

I am quoting the oft used english idiom .. not a literal reference  ..

Just to remind that this set back may continue for some months but for years !

It's not surprising. Ashwin is a better Test bowler than ODI bowler, but even in the former he has been greatly assisted by (i) helpful home pitches and (ii) decline in world's batting against spin.

He was never good unless you give him doctor pitches at home or he is playing West Indies who are terrible these days excluding T20 World Cup.

Most spinners these days are like that. Yasir Shah in Aus was far worse than Ashwin in Oz. I'm not trying to saying that X is better than Y or something - just pointing out that none of the current bunch can be classified as "great"

Ashwin needs to stick to test matches.

I agree. And preferably within SC and WI - I'd rather play Jaddu in other countries since he has improved his Test repertoire.
