Tendu_10 Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Ash is a total beast in Tests. loop flight n dip but at times in this CT seemed like he was disinterested and just on auto pilot. no effort no revs. just average bowling. his batting is useless in ODIs too. Should ash be a Test specialist only. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Tendu_10 Posted June 20, 2017 Author Posted June 20, 2017 @ Shaz1 seemed like he totally didnt care in final. looked sloppy n over weight. maybe its fatigue or mindset i just dont know he looks a shadow of his former self. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Tendu_10 Posted June 20, 2017 Author Posted June 20, 2017 He has never been a good ODI player. he was one of worlds best ODI bowler for a while. now he just looks disinterested. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Vilander Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 poor fitness. not fit of ODI needs to be replaced. express bowling 1
Tendu_10 Posted June 20, 2017 Author Posted June 20, 2017 Yeah I will admit he seemed less worrying to us. Even my dad questioned why Kohli persistently bowled him when he was getting wacked? I don't know he seemed like a easy bowler to hit. Someone who favored the opposition more than the team. he was bowling puris just not what u expect from a senior bowler totally negative line. VK had a slip ne he kept darting it down leg side. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

He has never been an impact player in ODIs and never will be.

Khota Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 He is fat. He is overweight. he should not be on the field till he loses 40 lbs.
vvvslaxman Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 He needs a bit of purchase from the surface. These were absolute roads. No single spinner was effective. With no wickets upfront from seamers these bowlers will be cannon fodder. Look how Pandya hit big sixes against the turn. Very very slow turn.
Khota Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 We can blame Ash but he was responsible for 20 extra runs and no more. Problem was batting.
DDfan2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I Quote w had been repeatedly saying even before the indian team was selected for CT that both Ashwin and Jadeja don't deserve to be the frontline spinners. One averaging 32, another 35 can't be the leading spinners. It's nothing new with Ash. He has always been a mediocre ODI bowler. And this I am seeing g from his performances over last 5 years, that started with the triangular series in Australia, 2012. Since then, he has always looked to bowl on a leg stump line, never look to attack the batsmen, and happy giving 50-60 runs with no wkts in his 10 overs. Bhajji bowled the same line and hence got dropped from the team. But Ashwin has been doing the same for last 5 yrs, baring few IC tournaments like CT 2013, WC 2015, still no one raises a question on his place in the team. He has already played a lot more ODIs than he actually deserves. Mishra should have been playing ODIs in the last 5 yrs as the frontline spinner. Hope sense prevails with selectors and they reserve Ashwin solely for test matches, like Yasir Shah, Herath, Lyon etc.
Lannister Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Too fat. Too predictable. Never really turns the ball. It was only a matter of time his fitness issues had caught up to him.
Pollack Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 (edited) Would be honest about Ashwin. He is not very good he is thought to be even in tests. Lately we have indeed been preparing spinner friendly wickets than we were a decade before. Both Jadeja and Ashwin make merry when conditions are favourable. They are very ordinary if not. In ODIs one hardly gets turning or slow pitch. In West Indies both Ashwin and Jadeja would do good even in ODIs. Swann and even Harbhajan were better spinners than Ashwin Edited June 22, 2017 by Pollack Singh bling and WC2011INDIA 2
rkt.india Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Ashwin is the most overrated bowler ever. Singh bling 1
