Good on you Kohli Well I hope they did, what's the point of all this engima and superstar titles if the wicket keeper of the team has to score the winning runs more often than not ?

Who are those superstars you are talking about? Are DK, Rahane, dhawan, Jadhav superstars? There are only two superstars in this team Kohli and the wicketkeeper Dhoni. He was recently dropped from all forms. How can he be a superstar then? Rohit isn't playing this series. Yuvi injured. Pandya isn't even a sure shot in this team. How can he be superstar and he anyway bats lower than Dhoni while your argument was for Batsmen batting ahead of Dhoni should not be required.

Dhawan was regarded as a superstar numerous times. And Pandya is considered an a bonfadie true blue all rounder here who nearly won the finals for us.... So With Rahane/Kohli/Karthik/Dhawan batting ahead of Dhoni and Yuvi has been playing the other matches in the series regardless.

If your captain scores a 5 or so and Karthik scores 2 or 3 and so did Dhawan and they all survived and still playing .....then compared to that Dhoni's innings was still respectable. So if those guys didn't go under the knife then why would the wicket keeper be banished ? Rasgulla 1

Before CT, most of the people here were against him being picked. Pandya is considered an alrounder, yes, a prospect for future but he is not yet reached at that stage. Neither he bats ahead of Dhoni. Which superstar bats at 7?

It means they didn't get their eye in. It can happen to anyone. If Dhoni too had gotten out at 2 or 3, I would not have blamed him, but he got set, played 114 deliveries with no intent, 1 four that too on a delivery down leg side, stayed till 49th over and could only score 50 odd, 10 more singles by him in those same number of deliveries would have won us the game. When Pandya was scoring at 100 SR, Mr. Wicketkeeper was scoring at 50 SR in the same time period, 18 of 36. And he bats in top 6. If he is just a wicektkeeper, he should bat at 7-8. Only two superstars in Indian team at this time - Kohli and Dhoni, they will get the most stick and they will get the most accolades. Similarly South Africa has ABD and Steyn. England has Root and Cook. Pakistan had Afridi who was superstar too, it was hard to drop him for PCB as he was basically why half of the Pakistan public would tune in to watch the game regardless of how bad he was. Most team has good to top performers but star status are given to people who have dominated the sport for a long time and achieved a lot. You can just check by the number of followers they have on social media and see the difference between a star player and a good top performer. express bowling 1

Cook is more comparable with Amla....for England it's got to be Root and Stokes....clearly the guy's market value as a franchise player in world cricket speaks for itself

Once it got to 6 rpo it should always be the set batsman looking for boundaries and the new batsman rotating the strike....you can't ask the new guy to do all the hitting especially on a tough track. What was the point of taking so many deliveries to settle down if you are still scared about taking risks? Mosher and Laaloo 2

He might be playing like "star" but not really that its his status which will retain him his spot if he goes out of form for a long time. Cook is a proven star and is an English star. You can't drop him from Test easily. Even if he fails for a long time, whole England is behind him in trying to see him score more runs and go past Tendulkar, regardless of what crap they keep saying that only subcontinental players play for records.

I said based on the players you named...you didn't mention Amla or for India in tests Ashwin/Jadeja etc.

Ashwin is a star player, star performer, but he doesn't have same status as Dhoni or Kohli because the fact is India and world cricket remembers more of ODI performances than Test performances. So I rate Ashwin high in test but the world doesn't as they do not follow test matches as closely, and hence Ashwin could go on to get dropped eventually as he is not that "star" status in cricketing terms. Its a sad and unfortunate thing but ODI players and performances take away most limelight away from top performances in test cricket by test cricketers. If you ask, most would remember Tendulkar's odi centuries more than his test centuries or double hundreds. ODI and t20 now gives people superstar status unfortunately and increases their popularity and hence that superstar status.

A prospect for future ? There are posts about his greatness here already ! don't water down the intense blind worshipping over here for a lot of the players. Questioning Pandya here ruffles quite a few feathers. Dhoni is a wicket keeper primarily and not a batsman , just because he has been batting tremendously and bailing the team out , expecting him to do that on a consistent basis is wrong. Only in the Indian team , a wicket keeper scoring a 50 is blasted more than the captain and the "GOAT" getting out for 3 Rasgulla 1

The lack of logic in your posts is mind numbing. Somone getting their eye in is an excuse ? So while chasing a mmeagre score of 180 , someone plays like an ass and gets out at 3. Who closed their eyes ? Who asked them not to read the pitch and apply themselves ? Was Dhoni or any other batter ex Rahane in that match given any easy deliveries to settle in ? - The lack of sense in you is outstanding. People who play stupidly and give up because they cannot adapt to the pitch and conditions are given an easy pass and someone who does get their "eye in" by applying himself is being roasted. If it was a hard pitch , it was for everyone ! - Kohli/Dhawan/Karthik should have stuck around and scored 10-20 runs at whatever the SR they could have and there would be no issue ! Rasgulla 1
