G_B_ Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 What i do recommend the mods and admins do is communicate with the users when there is down time. I do believe ICF has a twitter handle (which is not used) while I do believe again there is a facebook page (which is not used). An update on either would be appriciated Feel that fans and users need a means to communicate with the admins/mod at this time. I already am active on twitter and dont mind stepping up to run the ICF twitter handle. If the admins feel I am capable let me know. It does not have to be me. It can be slickr (if he wants it) who is active on twitter as well. I notice the site which shall not be named uses social media extremely well. ICF IMO is missing out on that aspect. Its a good means to bring new users to the forum. While its life that users get very busy and dont have the time. The twitter handle can be operated by 3-4 users at once. So it always stays active.

But they do all sorts of things from conducting interviews to even having the inside track on the pakistani team. Twitter is a free service (as of now anyways) as is facebook or even google plus. There is nothing stopping the mods or the admins to dropping in a tweet letting people know what the issue is. Most people can understand 2-3 hours or even an afternoon. 4 days and lots of speculation starts. I back in slickr in saying that either use the twitter handle or dismantle it.

Old guy Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 or you can join icf facebook group which is unofficial and ganesharan posts there and usually informs us about what trouble is and what is being done. also keep in mind this site was made by few people who are not even active but still pay the bills and take time to correct these problems..and most mods and admin dont get anything they do it for free (atleast that what i was told )

You can PM me or drop a note here if you are interested in updating the twitter account.

Students maybe have more time than people with families. So student brigade please step up. (B) people in different time zones. I think you have that with mods. Indians mods for India and VVS for all other times. The key in all this is whoever operates the twitter handle, has access to the admins via email etc. So if in case of a site down, the admin emails those running the twitter account or they take to twitter themselves and leave a small note.

Also , given that there are so many members in ICF who would be in twitter , Can be a useful way to increase memberbase too.
