it's interesting that he only found a way to counter overseas conditions in UK but not Oz and SA (probably not NZ too).

He did decently well in SA too IIRC , not the best stats but its better than a lot of our top order bats . Overseas its Aus where he struggled surprisingly , where relatively it should have been easier with his technique .

In Oz, he didn't play with soft hands often enough.

Only reason why management might be worried is that he might do another mid-series retirement. :hmmm:

If that happens again, will have to rely on FTB and HTB like Kohli, Pujara, Rahane, Rohit in that case.

troll is obvious :phehe:

I'm serious velanna. If Dhoni does an Afridi in Test cricket, then team India will have to again rely on Kohli - who is the biggest FTB and can't play swing bowling, Pujara - who is a HTB, Rahane - who is a master of once in a blue moon fluke innings and Rohit - another maha FTB.

Possibility of another mid-series retirement from Dhoni is the only obstacle for the team management.

how? Dhoni's bottom hand technique is not for bouncy tracks like in Aus.

Yeah for shorter formats if he has to score quickly, but in tests he should find it easier with the shorter lengths were he will get time to play/defend . You never see Dhoni troubled by shortballs .

Swing should have been his bigger issue with his complicated technique.
