More alarming thing from OP is our best T20 batsman don't get a game. That should be up for debate me think more than Dhoni.

News flash : 2013-2018(Last 5 years) Dhoni has highest SR than Rohit sharma :phehe:

If we look at stats from 2014(which was WC year)

Dhoni SR - 144

Rohit SR - 140

First one is not in the team, 2nd one - everyone wants him to be dropped.

What abt u.... do u think he is good enough for t20 and we should celebrater this useless stats without any context. I see every other day dhoni fan open stats like this.

So what's the context?

If you have average stats then with context you can be bad. But with best stats, claiming that their is some mysterious context that drags players lowest tier is amusing.

It's like a batsman averaging 50 in test cricket over 2 years may not be as good as someone else averaging 45 with context, but to claim that he is as bad as someone averaging 20 with some random context is stretching it too far.

That debate doesn't suite the narrative of Kohli being greatest captain ever, so it won't get attention.

Imagine if Kohli was treated like this 3 years back. Let's say Kohli is just lucky that he didn't debut under someone like Kohli. Otherwise his career would have been over by 2014.

Amla averaging 50 in odi and those are the softest run and highest average anyone have it withot context. A player can hav 30 average in odi or may be 110 sr in t 20 will take if it hrlps the team to win the match or have a great impact as per the situation. Bevan never had grt avg or strike rate like amla but i ll alwaya take a bevan over amla.

Yeah, with context he becomes worst player who should have never played ODIs for SA.

Bevan's average was sole winning aspect of his numbers in cards games (with center fresh or some some other chewing gun) back 18-20 years back.

Bevan - avg 62

Azhar - most runs 9000+/matches

Anwar - 194, Viv - 189, Gary Kirsten - 188

Waqar/Wasim - wickets (waqar had something like 300+ in 170 games)

Kumble - 6/12

Saqlain - bowling avg (19 or something like that)
