Hindi or other regional migrants to Bengaluru are excellent law abiding, hard working people. Any place's dream to have such migrants.  Canada, Europe, Australia etc will take such migrants with folded hands in comparison to the some radical folks that they have been taking in.

Anyways, haters are typically non-productive, rather destructive people. So are the Hindi haters. They would be worshipping the Hindi speaking migrants (out of their guilt) if they got rid of their hatred.

Nah, there are some bad apples as well. Yes, the migrant workers are good and honest law-abiding, it is the yuppy IT crowd that get here are the ones causing the resentment among locals. One guy was beaten because he sat in the ladies seat and was asked to move out. He was adamant . They make it bad for the poor people. One Jharkhand guy who was fired from a BPO , stabbed a bus conductor . People read such news and make their own opinions. Even this autod-driver who got arrested in his narration said that he called them and they replied that they are coming down in "hindi". Why should he mention that? That could have caused more anger in him as they might have replied in Hindi with some attitutude. He ws not booked for unprofessional, or raising voice or even getting physical, but for using bad language. That is a bigger crime for somebody in customer service. That's beyond any decency and punishable. Road rage has to be contained, it can be used to malign common people. In Bengaluru, it is getting out of hand. Smaller roads, bigger traffic, bad ek duje pe pyaar barso.

^^ don't quote 1 or 2 case. Quote anything which you have on overall crime and the portion of crime committed by Hindi speakers. I believe if there is such data, it will show Hindi speakers to be total saints in comparison to others (even more so vs Hindi haters).

"That could have caused more anger in him as they might have replied in Hindi with some attitutude."

Assumptions.....my brother is doing bharat bhraman these days, currently in TN (doing chennai,Tiruvannamalai,  salem, rameshwaram, madurai, kanyakumari etc) He is also saying 10-15% people have issue with outsiders, (will try to trick you, overcharge, will be rude etc) 85-90% are ok, infact unassuming, polite n good people.

Don't try n justify or encourage the hatred of this minority 10-15%

We were not alive during "lungi uthao pungi bajao" days in Mumbai. But, were south Indians involved in any crime for Mumbaikars to hate south Ibdians? Local resentment doesn't stem from local crime stats. Nobody cares for it until some political entity starts this sentiment. It is the case here too. There is no justification, but to paint all such cases hatred towards Hindi-wallahs as gunda behaviour is also not a valid argument. He is a regular family guy and there are lot of issues that could have snapped him. Your claim of him doing it  only because of a North India girl is also assumption in your case. This is one of the reasons. You are also taking this one -off case as a general hatred towards all North Indians. It is also not the case on the ground.

That's completely incorrect. I never said that. Neither did I bring this case on this thread. Who brought this case up here?

There is something about the place also,  regardless of how low politicians wanna stoop ...for ex.

1. In Maharashtra, early nagpur will be better than early Mumbai.

2. Telugu, Mallu, kannada states would be better than TN.

3. North Karnataka (Bombay Karnataka?), coastal Karnataka, pretty much all Karnataka will be better than Bengaluru, Mysore regions.

IrrespeIrrespective of North or South, bad apples are bad apples everywhere. There was a video by a foreign youtuber in a Bengaluru market where a "samuday vishesh" guy was harassing him and trying to snatch his camera, and he had to run away. Minutes later he met some more folks in the same market and they were friendly with him. So these isolated incidents happens everywhere.

Yeah, I agree that majority of the bachelor IT crowd don't care about local culture and language, but we also need to agree that these bachelor's are the ones who struggle most in the industry due to inconsiderate working hours. Freshers and juniors work like a donkey easily for 12-14 hours a day so that company can provide support to their US counterparts. Its obvious they don't have much time to be culturally involved, they are much busy in their office-home-office routine.

Same IT crowd will go to a vacation in  EU and in preparation they will fashionably  learn a few phrases of the language  of the country they are visiting. Ask them to learn a few phrases in a local Indian language- Kannad goth illa, too busy at work! Bhai, wah!

Kannad goth illa,

while eating डोसा

Added in edit for the benefit of uninitiated Northies (incl Maharashtrians, Gujaratis etc.):

it is दोसा , not डोसा.  Actually, if you wanted to be really correctly in Karnataka, try saying दोसे.

Also it is सांबार, not सांभर

Funnily enough, I heard a colleague of mine from Delhi argue that Dosa is a Hindi word and it's etymology is that the dish makes two "shhha" when you flip the dosa on either side.. So it is दो (two) सा (shha sound):hysterical::phehe:

Ownajji. Tell him/her that real dosas don't need flipping :-). You cook it on one side. The other side is to load with beNNe and other accoutrements. Fold and serve.

Why would we hate someone like you? You are simply a product of the culture and environment you were born into. It's not your fault.

A culture's superiority isn't determined by its numbers but by its substance. You clearly lack that.

a culture superior to yours doesn't mean asking for much. Infact, i am lowering my standard by comparing myself to you.

Historically, your culture has been dominated by just about every tom, dick and harry. So, where does this idea of superiority even come from? Lol.

Lol? One can only pity you.

Historically, contemporarily etc. my culture is THE best culture of this world. The more you come in touch with it, the more you admire it. It has the best food, music, festivals, vegetarianism, spirituality (produces the greatest ever people to grace this world such as Osho, Buddha n countless others), colourful attire, tolerance for others, stood the test time - one of the oldest cultures.
