Gavaskar raises a very valid point here.

Any person who was blindly opposed to the IPL earlier and  went out of his way to criticize it ... later on wants to become a part of it in whatever capacity ...  needs to  be shown the mirror.

It is immaterial whether that person is white, brown or purple.

Gavaskar has many weaknesses himself and needs to be queried about them too.

But that does not mean that all the issues he raises are bad.

Gavaskar is living in the past.

The younger lot do not have a colonial mindset because they are from a different time.

Young Indian who are no names get to play while big international names get benched. He big heroes of ipl are mostly Indians.

We should feel proud that some international ex players are insecure about kohli playing in county. They have their reasons to oppose but it shows how much Indian cricket and beating  Indian team means to them.

Now if he has the guts to talk about some bcci arse licking, then we will call him tough nuts.

How about starting with some mumbai lobby arse licking??

fully agree with sunny g in this instance

Lloyd has been always hyper critical of the IPL when it was in ITV4... as soon as his paymasters have the rights to the IPL its all so good.

Now I actually enjoy Lloyd as a commentator. He does bring colour to the commentary team. But there are others like Michael Vaughn who were always supportive of the IPL (though critical of certain aspects) who would have made a better choice.

Vaughn is already commentating

As for anti ipl people getting to have a commentary stint..well they seem to be good.A welcome break from sunny and manju's blatently biased commentary. It looks like territorial fight.ipl is Indian territory. Indian commentators have ruled and now the territory is being shared.

Is that hurting sunnyji?

Well, that is easy to remedy...just stop the bias and be bold enough to  call out what needs to be called out.

True lol He was not exactly a fan of IPL either. To be honest many were not. Holding is no white. He is still a critic of IPL. Soon i can expect him to join in the IPL.  They are both part of the same hypocrisy lol. Mud slinging one is like muslinging himself.

Forget about Gavasar and brown vs white thing. Question still remains to be answered. Guys like Bumble, Clarke, Nasser who loathed the IPL, why did they chose to come over?  Is it the money or change of heart or both?  Inquiring minds would like to know.

Exactly.

I have.

Criticize foul language by all means ... but it is immaterial whether that person is a man or a woman.

You sir are a feminist. You get the Gloria Steinem award for being the most feminist man in the world :congrats:

Any intelligent self respecting woman would love to have separate rules and privileges for herself .Who would want to be clubbed alongside hairy sweaty men let alone be dominated by them ,not even men.

Let every individual choose what they want ...  as long as they are abiding by the law.

sounds reasonable but aren't laws there to be broken .Slavery was legal once ,how many law giver and their commandments have come and gone.

Laws will evolve and improve as society progresses. That is the way to go.

The main thing in a progressive society is to have a situation which provides equal opportunities to all, irrespective of race or gender.  This would mean similar responsibilities too.

Weird Indian mindset.

"These people must love everything about India to earn a living here"

No! Many parts of India and Indian culture are beyond sh!t and must be called out.

Everyone who has a skill or in the case of ex-cricketers, mass-appeal they have a right to earning a living.

Exactly.

People have no problems going to western counties to earn a living but constantly criticize western culture . This is the same .

They may not like ipl but will come and make a living.
