How was Panchal consistent? he averaged 38 in FC cricket before his break through season in 2016.

this kid will go a long way ....has a very good brain., always pitches accurately ,,has a good bouncer and reverse swinging yorker ...and can outswing the new ball,nips the ball back into the pads.

Yeah that is three good seasons,  averaging 50 + over three seasons including top scorer in 16/17- that is consistent!

That was my question, hasnt Panchal has done better over a longer period of time? IMO that would make him more deserving of an A team Spot.

 

He Didn't have a great series Vs NZ A though

I have not seen either of them bat but going by stats alone, Panchal should have been in that squad instead of Easwaran.

Karan Sharma had a brief spell of great form last season but seems to have faded away.

 

 

Ranji stats can get inflated by facing some lower rung opponents.  Reality is that Jalaj would weaken the batting if playing as a batsman, and weaken the bowling if playing as a bowler.   

 

To be blunt, India doesn't need a Moeen Ali in its test XI to play as a pretend front-line spinner.   They have 5 real ones who are fighting for selection.  And 3 of them are no mugs with the bat.

Ankit Rajpoot, Md Siraj, Navdeep Saini, Rajneesh Gurbani are being rated as TEST Specialist Bowlers as they are in the 4 day team so possibly these 4 would be immediately behind the 5 test bowlers umesh shammi ishant bhuvi bumrah...

these 4 could be even ahead of Shardul and Sidharth Kaul in the pecking order for tests...What do u guys Say...

Well he'd be playing as an all rounder... I wasn't suggesting he play as a front line bowler . He might be better bowler and batsman than Jayant.

very strong batting team.. i think deepak hooda and vijay shankar are the weakest batters among these guys as far as batting skills are concerned.

gowtham for me is better than Krunal as a Spinner and krunal is lil better in batting but overall i will pick gowtham ahead of krunal.

Axar is useless batsman and a fair Spinner but i dont see him as INDIA Material.

vijay shankar and deepak hooda are fair but not good enuf to be in the Best INDIA 15 in any of our three teams.they have been lucky to get a chance against lanka and bangladesh.

prasad Krishna,khaleel,shardul -shardul is already in indian odi team , other two have all the talent to play for INDIA, deepak chahar..i cant be sure whether he will play for either of three indian team 11.

shreyas is already playing for indian odi team and the other batsman prithvi/hanuma/samson/mayank/shumbhman have the talent to play for indian 11 .
