Pardon my slight Delhi bias, but I firmly believe that Pant is a very special player and should be integral to India's plan for 2019 World Cup. Utility wise, he could be slotted to replace Dhoni or Raina. Not going to happen I know.

 

I feel his game is most suited for ODIs right but a solid pick for T20s as well.

 

The last time I had similar feelings for an upcoming player was when Dhoni was wrecking bowlers' a$$h0les at India A level.

play 4 pacers - rajpoot, saini, siraj, gurbani and jayant as all rounder . 

Nadeem waise bhi will never play for india, atleast all fast bowler will get a chance n jayant who is among the probables will have his game time

Why not Gurbani? I beleive he bowled better than both Saini and Rajpoot.Also cant test him whether he is good enough to be our backup for Bhuvi as a swing bowler in Tests.

Philander plays at green pitches in SA. same pace alone does not make him Philander. You need to have the accuracy of him too. Regarding last game, that was poor captaincy. They both did not bowl enough overs. Rajpoot got just 10 overs in whole day in 2nd innings despite picking early wickets. two spinners bowled double the overs of pacers.  Nair learnt in this game a bit and gave more overs to seamers still his poor captaincy in first innings could have lost them this game when he removed Siraj and brought Spinners and as a result, they added 70 runs for 9th wicket

i dont consider vernom philander the BIG bowler everyone talks about -

 

My reasons-

See his record on Pitches which has not favoured Swing or Green pitches. If Philander is a great Bowler than Pravenn Kumar is also a great bowler bcos Praveen was AS GOOD AS Philander on his control of line n length and the KIND OF SWING he generated in swing friendly conditions was More than VERNOM and BHUVI....vernom suceeds only in such conditions, i agree he is no 1 bowler in such conditions but even Praveen Kumar, BHUVI and our local CHAHAR can become a great bowler on such conditions.He PLays in tests where conditions are favourably, i heard he was a big failure in LANKA...

 

he is a not an all condition Bowler and which goes totally against him steyn,Umesh yadav,Plunkett, Jimmy anderson, current african spearhead(wheatish , i m missing the name) is a better bowler than philander. even indian batsman played vernom well but could not handle ngidi and their spearhead.

That is exactly what I am saying.Backup for Bhuvi on green pitches.Gurbani moves the ball both ways.
