really frustrating to say the least .keeping faith on hacks like Dhawan,Kartick..... even Vijay seems past his sell date.

This is a uni dimensional batting lineup which can score only on patta wickets.

Virat too was missing edging the balls but when he did get bat on ball he was middling it rather than edge. The others edged when they got bat on ball. The problem that i see with this batters is that they do not leave the ball. That is probably considering as boring task by them and something which bores the test watching fans. Got fooled. The same test watching fans will screw for flopping due to bringing T20I or ODI game into test cricket.  For a start they must be made to realize how important it is to stop poking at unwanted deliveries outside off-stump and wait for a high probability shot. Vijay and Ajinkya were good leavers out side off stump, but it was shocking to see Ajinkya trying to score runs over the slips. Probably IPL effect. Same with Rahul, flirting outside off as soon as he came on to bat. Shikhar Dhawan was a poker anyways and one does not expects well left from him.

We have tried that with two players who are playing negligible amount of short format cricket. Vijay is no more in T20i and ODI team. Even CSK hardly picked him for 1 or 2 matches. Still he is carrying the T20 temperament into Tests.

 

Chet too isnt part of ODI, neither the franchisees are picking him in IPL. He did play 50 over matches in domestic cricket in England this year. But he plays so less of short format than others, Yet he is failing to average well in some countries.

      Yes give them atleast 3 tests without break and then decide  do you want them for next series or not ,rather giving 3-4 tests         for hacks like dhavan . Still feel Vijay may be do reasonably if his reflexes are not gone .   

      No point in crying now  as you cannot replace 3-4 of them at one go in this tour. 

    But this tour should be end point  where selectors should decide permanently about Vijay, Dhawan, Pujara, DK  . 

   No more dilly - dallying , yaari dosti   team selection.

Those decisions should have been taken after SA Test series. Problem is it is not just one batsman is flopping miserably. 4 of 5 specialist batsmen are flopping in both series. Even selectors must be wondering how to get replacement of so many in one go.  There is none better than other amongst these flops. I am struggling to find a name who will average better even than  these pathetic averages. I will patiently wait for them to bat on patta so that the same batsmen will score runs. More better i will wait for the same flops till test series in sub continent so that they will score 100+,150+, 200+ or even the odd 300.
