He’s injured & struggling. Not sure if he can recover by tomorrow..

India should do well to keep him out of equation...

Clearly struggling even after resting whole day. Cannot pivot so  cannot extract turn and bounce. At Max can keep one end quiet. Hope he is not needed tmr

If he goes wicketless in the first spell/session, he could be taken apart.

How did he got injured? Really affected his bowling and extended the match...

 

Even if he gets ‘fit’ by next match, can’t trust him. Get Jaddu in his place as England probably drop atleast one of the two lefty openers. Probably Jennings will make way for a right hand batsman.

His bowling was genius level, just unlucky really. I have never seen anyone so enthralling since Akram. Akram too didn't get enough wickets to justify his mastery over batsmen...he was mostly too good to get wickets. Probably the reason why so many batsmen call him the toughest to face...IMO Ashwin is the spin equivalent of Akram.

His control of seam position I haven't seen in an off spinner before to be honest. Outstanding.

As far as Indian test spinners go, there's Ashwin.... daylight and the rest.

 

If he's not available for rest of the series, it will be good for England.

Ashwin with simplified action is simply the best spinner in my opinion.

 

So much threat bowling with an injured hip. Even in Lord's, he bowled a bunch of bad balls but created quite a few chances.

Pacers took care of most of the bowling. A few cheap wickets here and there make all the difference.

 

If Ashwin was given those marginal 2 lbws (Stokes and Rashid), he would hav averaged 25 instead of 33.
