The process of reinstatement of the duo is seen as a reason for the delay in announcing the squad for the last two Test matches against England starting August 30. The three-member panel, led by Prasad, had named the squad only for the first three Tests. With Bhuvneshwar Kumar yet to recover completely from the back injury, the panel is likely to retain Shardul Thakur for the rest of the series. Thakur had earlier come in as cover for Bhuvaneshwar with a call to be taken on the pacer after assessing his injury status.

Selectors need to make a change or two. But looks like they will retain Shardul Thakur and co. ???

I wish they bring Siraj instead of Thakur

and Prithvi Shaw and Hanuma Vihari or M. Agarwal.

If India had lost the third test match, there would have been wholesale changes to get new birds exposed to English conditions.

But I wouldn't be too upset if selectors hold on to the same squad.

 

What's the point of replacing Shradul? Can his replacement leap-frog Shami and Umesh and get into playing XI?

Dhawan and Rahul both did ok in third test. Two 50+ partnerships and several good slip catches for Rahul. Barring injuries, they are both locks for next 2 test matches.

Boria is credible source..Who knows,they may do formality tomorrow of announcing adding their names to squad..

 

Won't be picked in eleven but still can be good experience.Shaw can debut in Australia series.
