What happened to james pattinson? he used to best aus pacer back in 2013-14 and now hardly plays cricket. Didn't see Coulter Nile from one year now as well.

Jake Ball and perhaps Woakes ( or someone similar ) touched 149 k and 148 k in Australia during the last Ashes.

 

Hazelwood touched 152 k during the same series.

 

They are much slower in other places.

Australian Pitches are flat so bowlers bowl quicker as they have no other option.Speed Guns Used are also top class.Channel Nine has been pioneer in all new technologies in cricket.

What do you mean by choosing highest of speed reading.In India Sometimes broadcaster Don't measure the speed from the release but when the ball is about to hit the pitch otherwise world over its measured from hand.

All the speed readings we see on TV are release speeds only, whether in India or abroad.

 

Simon Doull was explaining on TV that there are 3 speed guns used for all international matches ...  because radar gun readings are often wrong and fluctuate a lot, even for the same delivery.  Using 3 radar guns can smooth out the fluctuations of individual readings, especially if the 2nd highest or middle reading is used.  And most countries use this middle reading.  Australia uses the highest reading.

 

E.g -  A ball is bowled ... it registers  140 k, 142 k and 145 k on the 3 speed guns.  In India and most countries, we would show that the ball was at 142 k.  In Australia, they would show it as 145 k.  And very occasionally, the highest reading can be higher than the other readings by even 7 kph to 10 kph.

Pattinson has another injury injury has ruined his career so far, hopefully he can be fit again soon, Nile has been struggling with form and injury, if we had all our bowlers in form and fit we would have the best bowling line up in the world.

Well in case you forgot Australia literally had us on ropes here in India and in the last match we had to play out of skins to beat them still remember starc's fiery spell he was bowling absolutely gun fast I think it was 155 k thunderbolt that knocked the middle stump of karun Nair this is their usual speed.

Starc bowled one delivery at 153.6  kph  in that series and that spell was his quickest in that series, after which he got injured.  

 

Was usually in the 135 k to 151 k range in that series ...  which is still very quick but not upto 155 k range.

 

Starc's fastest deliveries in the 4 innings of the 2 tests he played in that series.

If that kind of pace and bounce is available, I would focus more on the bowlers. The Aussie lineup would look much weaker without Smith and Warner there. There is no reason not to bundle them out cheaply.
