that's a tricky one. T20 has arguably had an adverse impact on those of modest ability. but when a great player gets set I'd argue T20 is an asset. you see far more run-a-ball high scores nowadays in tests.

Test match batting against pacers is primarily about having a good off-stump game.  T20s have made batsmen poke outside the off-stump consistently so that they can keep the score board moving ... and this becomes their 2nd nature.

 

The super talents like Kohli, Smith, Williamson and ABDV have benefited from the higher SRs ... but most others struggle if there is any sort of movement ... due to the above mentioned bad habit.
