A good win by India over Ireland qualifying for the Semis. For a moment it looked like a competitive match with Ireland not letting India get away with a big total and then starting well. But they did not have the depth and talent to mount a challenge.

As many have said above Kaur should bat majority of overs. Jemima does not waste balls but i think she should open as she is good against pacers too. Mithali sometimes get stuck and her batting place is up for question. I don't think we can drop her as we still do not have that depth and she provides solidity in case of few wickets.

I spoke about how the women are getting better at skills. I am very impressed by Radha and Deepti's bowling action and technique. Compare it with bowling action of older generation of women cricketers and you see they are more skilled and polished.

Kaur should definitely bowl all the time. She is very under rated. She bowls tight and spear it at 95 kph which is similar to off-spinners in men's cricket while medium pacers in women's cricket bowl at 100-110. Against team like Australia they will move around and belt the slower bowlers like Poonam who bowl at 65. Defensive bowling is very important in T20.

Jemima continues to impress and I am so excited by her talent. In a couple of years she has comfortably moved to the topmost levels without showing any nerves.

they should follow the batting order they had for the 1st match vs NZ, Raj should come in only if required

I have watched all the WT20 matches featuring India. My observation:

India heavily dependent on the top 4. Mithali,Smriti (I have weakness for her.She is so elegant :)),Jemima and Harmanpreet Kaur. If you plot it against mens team they would be Dhoni,Yuvi,Rohit,Kohli of the team. Problem is not much after them. I had high hopes from Veda Krishnamoorthy but she has flattered to deceive of late. She plays for Hobart Hurricane in WBBL but she is like the recent Suresh Raina :(. Other batsman are not upto the mark and Dayalan/Deepti Sharma dont have the power game. Even todays game we were looking to score 180 but the moment Smriti got out we stalled. So its no different than mens team. Top heavy.

India has an excellent wicket keeper in Tania Bhatia but again she needs to contribute with bat. But she is a master stumper aka Dhoni.

Bowling wise,we are missing Jhulan Goswami, her pace and yorkers from wide angle. Mansi is just all right and so India heavily dependent on spin. We have Poonam,Deepti and Radha. All three are good spinners and they have different actions. So even on bad day we can depend on them not giving more than 30 in 4 overs. The fifth bowling slot is taken by Harman but today Anuja did well ( she had replaced Mithali)

Ground fielding has been below par. Catching has been just ok (although they left a few catches last game)

Overall now that India are in Semi Finals I am hoping they meet W Indies in semis as they would be easier to beat though nobody knows how Deandra Dottin will play as well as Steph Taylor. But if India reaches the final, against England or Australia they might struggle (pressure game and if Harman or Smriti gets out cheaply). The only way they are going to win is bat first and put 170 -175 on board and choke with spin ( the wickets have been low and slow)..Hoping for the best..Go Ladies Go..

True...Good win by the Girls today...too bad, not much support for them on ICF :y:

I thoroughly enjoyed. At one point ALan wilkins was rooting for Mandana to take review like a fanboy lol Mandana almost did not take the review and ready to walk off. Veda krishnamurthy told her to take it.  She added 20 to 30 valuable runs. Alan wilkins was like "when people like Rohit sharma, kohli, Mandana gets going you want to see more of them"
