Unless the below is said to throw us off:

https://www.cricket.com.au/news/tim-paine-pitch-dry-spin-flat-australia-india-frustrated-mcg-sydney-test-series-highlights/2018-12-30

"Australia skipper Tim Paine expects India will be excited by the prospect of a dry SCG pitch for the fourth Test in Sydney, saying it's been a "frustration" that conditions so far in the Domain Test Series have at times played into the hands of the tourists."

Kohli is pretty excited about the fast bowlers he even mentioned that record in post match. So he will go with 4 bowlers. Ashwin is not fit any way. I doubt they will take chances with ashwin and I don’t think they try Kuldeep. So it will be Hardik in place of Rohit Sharma. This is the only to balance loss of a batsman. Hardik is better than bhuvi and ashwin in batting at least.

Rahane, please step up. One test 100 in last 27 months is simply not good enough for the VC of the team. Average of 30 over 26 tests, which is pretty much half his career. Pathetic for someone with so much talent. Has to perform or this test has to be the end of his Test career.

Noted that his FC aveagevis now down to 50, at one stage it was 67 before playing for India.
