Again, Test series win in SENA. What more competency do you want? Results speak for your competency. Not any Tom dik hairy's perception about him.

Winning with Indian team is not a big deal. This team is real good.

Lame excuse. We did not win with Sachin, laxman dravid and co. This team did under Kohli and Shastri. Hard pill to swallow for most here and this comes from someone who doesnt really think Shastri was right candidate to coach..

Shastri as a coach now has an overseas test series win. ODI series win in Australia.  A very successful coach. His drinking habits are none of anyone's business.  Get over your hate.

Whats the role of shastri in the team ? We have batting coach and bowling coach. What is his contribution to the team ? Selection process ? The blunders in selection process are second to none and costed us series in SA and England. The Indian team is good. Because we have good bowlers now not just because batsman. Also you name the older legends like Tendulkar, Dravid and Laxman. I have seen many innings where they couldn't outbat the opposition like Pujara did when they were on top they gave it away they weren't ruthless.

Sachin, Laxman and Dravid did not have the best bowling attack in the world.

If Indian team is good why it didn't win in SA or Eng. You say selection blunders were made. Agreed. Shastri and Kohli made few mistakes. Now in Australia series they didn't much. So why take credit away from him now?

Regarding having good bowlers, isn't Bumrah drafted in the team under Kohli Shastri. Why again take away credit from him. After repeated failures of openers, Vihari and Agarwal were given chances. All these things while Shastri is coach. But yeah again let's take away credit from him and say Team is good.

Regarding coach's role. It's generally a bit of everything. He should be good man manager at the same time be able to provide valuable inputs in batting, bowling, Fielding and strategise and motivate too. Shastri is a good man manager and a good motivator for the team. He falls short of some other qualities and that's why I didn't support Shastri over other available choices present then. But if he delivers results nothing else matters.

And when was Bumrah drafted into test team? When Shastri wasn't coach? Shami and Ishant had been around for years and it's bumrah's inclusion which made a difference.

How are attributing selection of Bumrah to Shastri ? May be kohli or MSK prasad. Didn’t Shastri just become the coach ? Did he had that much impact in selection of Bumrah ? If Agarwal was the best opener why wasn’t he selected in the first place but prithvi Shaw was selected ? Clearly a Mumbai youngster is selected over a best domestic bat.  Again how do you tie this to Shastri ? Him sleeping while the team is playing must be really great management. The biggest blunder of all blaming Pujara for low strike, dropping Pujara and selecting Rohit Sharma credit should be given to shastri. Dharu shastri is great man manager. Constant chopping and stupid horses for courses selection policy is great man management. If not for Pujara we wouldn’t even have won in Australia from batting perspective.

Selection blunders :  blame Shastri

Selection gone right : how is coach responsible for it?

Nice. You have already filled your mind with hatred for Shastri.

Lol You are saying Bumrah and Agarwal are in the side because of shastri. I gave my view point that they are based on MSK prasad and also gave a prime example of dropping Pujara. You do seem ignore that completely. Do you have any article suggesting Bumrah and Agarwal are priced because of shastri ?

LOL Shastri responsible for dropping of pujara but he is not responsible for pushing in Bumrah, Shaw, Mayank and Vihari in test team. Great. Awhat ignored? Already said he had made mistakes and then he had also done some right like  in this Australia series. Anything  done wrong Shastri is culprit. Anything done right it's either captain, selector or his housemaid.

Playing Manish Pandey and Vihari, two rookies in playing eleven? I am sure you will give credit only to captain for this. But dropping Pujara was Shastri's decision.   Suit your justification as per your hate.

Vihari played in England was not a rookie. He was forced to open to protect Rohit Sharma. After 8 test and no big partnerships at the top they were forced to go with Agarwal.

People blame Shashtri, but it was kohli who said he wanted batsmen with “intent”.
