vvvslaxman
He doesn't struggle against them. But i have this impression he is not able to dominate them like slamming them for six and fours at will. Any stats to back that up? UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
vvvslaxman
An example of how Kohli is stuck against leg spinners :) UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
Moochad
Looks more uncomforatble against them than other bowlers, maybe he should play Chahal more in the nets this IPL to get ready for WC. I havent seen the stats, but Zampa doesnt seem so good that he should struggle against him UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
vvvslaxman
Looked like dominating Zampa. Then got into a tangle against a wrong un. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

vvvslaxman
He again got out Shreyas Gopal with the wrong un. With Dhoni lunging, Dhawan, Kohli struggling, Rohit stuck against spin India is left with not many players who can attack spinners. Pandya to some extent Shankar are the only ones who play spin reasonably well. Link to comment
WeStMiDz
Reason Kohli is struggling is he plays from the crease. Cannot fathom why he doesn't use his feet more. Link to comment

Stan AF
All these guys are lucky they're not playing in the 90s. Warne/Saqlain/Murali would eat these guys alive. Link to comment

KOhli was one of the best against these mystery spinners, chuckers. Mendis, Chukmal. If you watch his 183 against Pakistan he would walk down the wicket against spinners every single time and he would never miss the ball. That game is completely gone. Now he is stuck on backfoot and just moves his body forward Link to comment

He was never that great against spinners, you're making it sound as if he's Lara+SRT rolled into one. Stan AF 1 Link to comment

He was probably the best against Ajmal alongwith Sanga when Ajmal always troubled many players around the world. These days even offies trouble him. Lyon, Moeen. Link to comment

Now whether it was Yuvraj or Sehwag is debatable, but Mendis was never the same after that. Kohli although has a fairly good defense against spinners, he gets into trouble trying to milk them or even attacking them these days. He needs to bring out the slog & paddle sweeps if he's not into stepping out of his crease, unlike SRT his reach helps a lot. If he won't even do that spinners around the world will eat him alive, his game is based on safe risk free cricket - stop his run flow & that game plan falls apart. It won't be such a big deal in tests but he could really struggle in LO if more tracks assist slow bowlers. Link to comment

I saw a bit of Ranji. Almost all guys in domestic play spin better than our current Indian team. Link to comment
