I know that leg-side stumping is difficult and I am not blaming him only for that one miss. His overall keeping against spinners is not good. Also he is not a good enough fielder to play as a batter alone in the team. You need to be able to field well to play as a batter.

That isn't foolish at all. Rahul batted at 3 in T20Is over Kohli and did really well. Rahul is more suited for the top order. Kohli on the other hand has the game to finish matches and play calculative cricket which would make him a great No. 4. Rahul doesn't quite have the middle overs and finishing game that Kohli does so if Rahul and Kohli were both in the team, Rahul in the top order over Kohli would be the best position for the team.

 

If Rahul scores big runs at 3 with Kohli following at 4 to provide the impetus in the middle and death overs, that would really put our batting in a strong position. Rahul at 4 would be out of position.
