He needs to be told to play like it is T20, Rohit will be in his stonewalling mode at the other end for sure. Anyway both he and Rohit have problem with the incoming delivery by lefties, if Amir finds his banana swing on Sunday can't depend on those 2. Forecast is overcast, like you said maybe DK should be sent to open with Sharma. He is unpredictable, might even get a smooth 70-80 surprising us all.

Amir or Boult, Rahul will do well.It is not he is being asked to open despite not being an opener. He has opened in past be it domestics and he will do well.

Rahul is naturally an opener where as rohit is make shift opener. I think rahul can take his time at start for first 4 - 5 overs and then go in attacking mode.

6 years back Rohit turned his career around in England while opening in an ICC tournament.

Concerned about running between the wickets now, Rohit-Dhawan had perfect communication, these 2 ran like maniacs in the Pak encounter.

With Dhawan ruled out, it's an opportunity for Rahul.  Rahul had a good first games against Pakistan. Now, you've got two openers who can  take it deep and get BIG hundreds or even double centuries.  They'll need to settle the chemistry between them wrt to running between the wickets and building partnerships.
