rtmohanlal Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 for me the game was lost when Kohli got out in the 28th over. It is only natural that while chasing a huge score your newbie relatively untested batsman like Rahul can struggle, consume a few balls and get out with out scoring. Then it is the responsibility of the experienced batsman to consolidate and after growing in confidence thru the innings cut loose . Unfortunately Kohli after scoring 66 of 76 balls got out instead of staying till say 35th over and raise team score to about 215.( in the place of actual 198) .The match was lost there.
Lannister Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 First and last 10 overs. The whole approach was wrong from the very beginning. This is expected under retard Kohli's captaincy.
mishra Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I think Kohli has pointed out. Boundry was 53 mtrs at ine side instead if minimum 65 mts. Offcourse the same length would have been added to some particular side. Good job ICC and ECB for allowing the game. However it should not be repeated as this was one crunch game for organisers
nevada Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 One positive is that despite all the tuk tuking, weak shots which went nowhere, failure to time the ball, tight bowling and excellent fielding by England which converted 4s to 2s many times, lack of six hitting, meek surrender etc, we still managed to put up 300+ on the board! Imagine what could have been achieved with the top order showing a little more urgency and sense. They played like phattus. After playing a decent innings against Australia, Rahul has again regressed and is definitely at the last chance saloon. This defeat has removed the "only undefeated team, the team to beat" monkey off of the team's back and knocked some sense into them hopefully. This team is good for a SF spot and not much thereafter. Let's see if they can show some fight and go further or if they succumb to the same old tried and tested approach.
