Franco Vazquez Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 I know a lot of people were saying that cricket has been upstaged by womens world cup here but the current TL of my Twitter is full of cricket and from people who didn't post even a single tweet about cricket in their whole Twitter career. Some of them are even calling it the best game ever in any sport and yeah most of them are white British.
DGBOSS Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Agree this game can ignite the love for the game in otherwise Football crazy country
CG Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Everything will be forgotten once premier league starts. Ranvir and Khota 1 1
The Hound Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Seeing some of the reaction videos of England fans on twitter after their win , quite impressive to see so many people were watching it despite Federer-Djokovic final at the same time.
LordPrabhzy Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Give it another month till the premier league starts- everything will be forgotten. CG 1
First class Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Hope they will win Ashes and that would help too.
kosingh Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Cricket will never compete with soccer in the UK. Not even close. But hopefully cricket can nonetheless be as popular as it was 30 years ago. Ashes '05 too showed promise, but England could not sustain that success. What's important now is to build on the WC win. Vijy 1

It has a lot to do with the fact that it’s not FTA and people can’t afford expensive Sky subscription and don’t want to. It’s useless to compare it with soccer when most of the countries have football as the dominant sport
Khota Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Look at the age of people watching. It will always be football. Ranvir 1
ThePhenomenal1 Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 England have to move on from the old people image, dont know why they hosted the final at lords. You need big atmospheres, not golf or tennis vibes. Khota 1
Franco Vazquez Posted July 15, 2019 Author Posted July 15, 2019 Cricket is on front page on papers for tomorrow which is the first time since Ashes I think
Cricketphile Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 The truth is ppl like to follow winning teams. The moment england starts to lose, the interest will wane. If India start losing many matches, interest will decrease in India too, just like hockey tanked in the country

Franco Vazquez Posted July 15, 2019 Author Posted July 15, 2019 Of course they are not going to brag about it for next 4 years but still it got mega response here in UK
