Ankit_sharma03 Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 True , but everything comes at a cost. Also i still feel his bottom hand wont have helped him overseas at 3....in overseas 5 was best for him. Plus many were avl to bat at top but we needed ppl in middle , the value of which we realise now as the quality of yuvi n dhoni is missing. This is why Rahul shud remain in middle coz ull find many to bat in top 3 but few who can bat like that in middle order Rasgulla 1
helperononline Posted June 15, 2020 Posted June 15, 2020 Gambhir is actually mocking Dhoni here "MS Dhoni batting at No. 3 on flat wickets with the quality of bowling attack now in world cricket... look at Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and West Indies in the current situation, with the quality there is no international cricket, MS Dhoni would have broken most of the records." SK_IH Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 Dravid made a good point in this context when he was the captain. Many a players can bat at no 3 in ODIs but very few could bat at 5,6 and excel in that place. Dhoni was one of those few and he did a great job. Gollum, raki05, velu and 2 others 5

Yeah that's why I don't want KL and Iyer to bat in top 3, we have enough people to do that. We need a strong MO to win 2023. SK_IH 1

Dhoni in his prime - 2009-2013 - is the best middle order batsman in the history of limited overs cricket. He was the perfect middle order batsman, could build partnerships, ran well between the wickets, could rotate strike and hit big shots when needed against both spinners and faster bowlers. He was also a very good at chasing targets, knew exactly what the run rate was and never panicked. SK_IH 1
