The worst performer in 4th innings away from home among ATG batsmen is Lara (average of just 25 with 0 hundreds).  Quite eye opening. Steve Waugh also low at 27.

Just for funz and gigglez, I compared his record to other West Indian bats. Doesn't make for a pretty reading :((

Ind's ATG batsman avgs 70+

Among these 3:

  • 500 or more runs in a series: Gavaskar - Y, Lara - Y, Waugh - Y
  • 3 or more 100s in a series: Gavaskar - Y, Lara - Y, Waugh - N
  • 4th innings high average: Gavaskar - Y, Lara - N, Waugh - N

 3 Ys to Gavaskar :hatsoff:

Rahane is pretty good ... if only ODIs had 4th inningss.....

Yeah not bad. Besides avg, one could also look at innings/50+ score (less = better), and in terms of that (among specialist batsmen)

Gavaskar 1.88

Kohli 2.33

Amarnath 3.00

Vishwanath 3.25

Sehwag 4.00

Dravid 4.17

Rahane 4.50

Vengsarkar 5.00
