Started watching Paper. Let me see how good it is.

Watched Hindi dubbed Maareesan movie. Liked it but it felt very long (even longer than its 2.5 hours running time). It needed a good editor and could have lost 15/20 minutes easily.

The performances are SO bad. John is beyond bad. Cannot emote. The female leads are fit for swim suite parade, not for movie characters.

 

Managed to watch it for 30 minutes. May be it get's better later. But i do not want to test my patience.

100% agree John Abraham ruins all movies (for me at least). The diplomat was ruined for me. I just can't stand the guy.

Watched Dil se one more time.

 

Sarook's performance between cringe and sublime. In some scenes he over-acts and looks cringe. In some, where he is subtle and keeps himself in check, it is too good.

Bob Odenkirk's Nobody 2 ... It isn't as good as Part 1 which was epic but still fun watch.

I am a big fan of 80s, 90s Mani Ratnam. Like Kamal, he has lost his touch with age. But peak MR was a gem, Dil Se was one of his weaker films. But think of Iruvar, Nayagan, Thalapathi, Bombay, Roja, Anjali.....one of the all time greats.

Thalapathi is a GOAT movie. Watched it so many times in telugu. Especially THAT song in temple. Rajinikanth 

 

Anjali was also great.

 

His only telugu straight movie, geetanjali, is a classic . Best work on Nagarjuna's filmography.

In diplomat, the actress and other staff covered it up.  But in tehran everything is cringe maxx.

On the contrary, he fit the role  of a Babu as a straight jacket diplomat having to do minimal expressions.  Have a higher tolerance level for John than to the Khans or even Akshay Kumar

Akshay is non serious actor. I was watching Jolly LLB 2 the other day and it was such a downgrade from first one.

Akshay kumar acting is exactly the same in every movie. Very limited skills as an actor.

Akshay Kumar is like a comedy touch hero. Roles like rowdy Rathore will suit him the best. No way he can work in a off beat movies like this one.

That is mass masala cinema with zero subtlety. For us it looks caricature. But for masses it is paisa vasool.

He has the same exact tone and demeanour in almost all the movies. Be it is anti hero or hero or comedian.  And then this guy Ajay Devgun with dead pan face with same expression for every scene. Sharukh probably was okay in a few movies like Swades. There is  a comfort zone for most of these acotrs which they don't come out of. Gowrikar said  "Prithviraj's acting was not authentic" But he somehow felt Sharuk's acting in Jawan is more authentic lol
