Its obvious that anyone is better than Jadeja..

Bigger problem is hardik's position.. he doesnt seem to be bowling and picking him as a batsman alone is a bit risky

Pollard is doing the job of all rounder for MI. Doesn't seema like Hardik Pandya will bowl this IPL.

Perhaps he will start bowling in next bilateral series. For someone who is not a proper bowler, it will be tough to bowl well after a long break from bowling , that too at international batsmen. Even his pace is likely to get reduced.

if Pandya starts bowling at speed of Vijay Shankar, then Shankar has an advantage as Shankar is a much better batsman in long formats.

He did well in A team tour of NZ but has never looked convincing at international level. Seems to lack mental strength and self belief.

Yeah, at international level he did not compete well. However, there is more potential in his batting ability in longer formats. Although just having talent or potential is useless at international level, one expects good performance and results while playing international cricket.

How does he make the Test team? As a batsman? Bowler? He's good enough at neither for the longer format.

I think H Pandya hasn't totally recovered from his back(spinal?) injury. That is why he hasn't bowled this IPL.
