He may not be the fastest bowler, or the best batsman - but he's a fighter who backs himself, and more often than not, is able to deliver on that self-belief. Its a rare thing that temperament, almost as rare as India having a pace bowling allrounder, or a high-quality power hitter down the order who can reliably deliver consistently. aditya19 Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 played well certainly not a long term no 6 in my opinion.. can do so on pattas against mediocre bowling. in fact this whole team has incorrect order. rahul should be opening and gill should be no 4 to milk the singles. sandeep 1

Gill is no fool. He knows top order batsmen become the "stars" in Indian cricket. He converted from #3 batsman to "opener" for his ranji team. He will do everything he can to stay a "top order" caste batsman. Is Bunty Sajdeh managing his business and endorsements? Which talent agency 'runs' him?

Pandya has not shown anything which makes him a competent batsman against any bowlers let alone fast bowlers. Don’t think he can play a big knock chasing like Pandey did last time or Iyer has recently. Pandey is a better fielder too, so if he is not bowling it makes him useless the longer the format gets. If he is bowling then obviously over guys like Pandey anyday. On 11/20/2020 at 5:11 PM, cowboysfan said: so he is never going to bowl again? if thats true then he is no use in ODIs and he just made sure he will never be picked for a test side. On 11/22/2020 at 2:27 PM, Khota said: Pandya fans are very gifted idiots. First I was told he is an allrounder and when I pointed out he cant bowl now I am being reminded that he can hit sixes. I dont know when this insanity will end but I don't see that happening soon. If all else fail we should have at number 6 a player with mail order east european bride. Now not many can claim that,. On 11/27/2020 at 7:31 AM, Gambit said: He's making a habit of making useless runs. He needs to finish games like Dhoni batting at the position he does. Even Agarkar and Irfan Pathan have made 80s/90s batting in the top order so this is not unique to Pandya. He needs to bowl to justify his position. If he's not bowling, he can be replaced by someone else. On 11/29/2020 at 6:49 AM, Number said: Filling up his belly with leftovers when match is done and dusted. Looks like a joker when match is on the line. Can't trust him to be a permanent no. 6 batsman. We hype too many here in ICF. Moments of glory is not proven talent. Even Dinesh Mongra has a mammoth ODI 100 Roll call of "fans" who are not aboard the "SDP" train. What consistency u expect from iyer or manish who have their set of weakness n have also flopped . its basically a myth in head that someone who plays fast cant be consistent and someone who plays slow can build innigs better 5 minutes ago, aditya19 said: you are too influenced by IPL/T20s and england "beastly" batting...regarding england firstly they copied India model from 2011 to attack and post big scores to compensate mediocre bowling. now they are blessed with quality allrounders and attacking players coming up which is giving them confidence to post big scores on a consistent basis.
