Yes. But this thread's purpose was to convey that ARs do not exist. And having ARs in the team is a recipe for disaster. What we are seeing in this WC as well as many previous WCs is the exact opposite. cricspirit 1

Frustrated Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 So, what did this team (full of specialists) achieve despite the home conditions? In every WC, we reach the semis or the Final. What extra did this bunch of so called specialists achieve?
Ultimate_Game Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 All rounders do exist and they're worth their weight in gold! Case in point Pandya and Axar Patel in this WT20. Take a look at the highest Impact/Match as per Cricinfo's smart stats and Pandya actually budges Bumrah! and Axar Patel makes it on the list. Take a look... https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/2024-t20-world-cup-smart-stats-how-good-were-india-1441793 This tourney showed that if Hardik hadn't been injured in WC 2023, things would've been very different. We still don't have anyone like him to provide the balance Pandya does and that's why the team is so big on him. Time for OP and Pandya and all-rounder bashers to eat some humble pie! Pandya and surprisingly even Axar really showed up and made all the difference. Axar was the true hero for me as I didn't expect him to perform the way he did Kron 1
Lord Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 Imagine claiming likes of Kapil Dev, Imran Khan, Kallis etc don't exist, let alone calling them poor Kron and Stan AF 2

Fast bowling all rounders are the games MVP, like MMHS on PP says. Elite ones are rare but not non-existent. Ultimate_Game 1

Just bowl 125 to 135. And be a good batsman. It won't take too much of a toll tbh If kalis can do it bowling 130 plus for so many years and kalis is considered one of the best ever, what's the excuse for the newer gen to not train both aspects of their game?
putrevus Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 This was Pandya's redemption also, India invested so much time on this guy without ever getting much back. He was awesome in the world cup. rollingstoned and Frustrated 2

Don't know who MMHS is but yeah genuine pace all-rounders are a rare breed. The balance they bring to a team in unbelievable! rollingstoned 1
