TNAmarkFromIndia Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 (edited) Iyer, who is a leg spinner, has four First-class wickets and five List A wickets to his name. In reply to a query where a fan suggests if Iyer could be asked to bowl some overs, Manjrekar says, "He must... absolutely must, develop that skill. Will enhance his chances to keep his place, it will also serve India well. Just 3/4 overs needed off pure batsmen." Edited November 28, 2020 by TNAmarkFromIndia
Ankit_sharma03 Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 yes if he wants to survive in long run he has to
express bowling Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 I don't know why batsmen don't want to bowl a few overs these days. Tendulkar, Ganguly, Sehwag, Yuvraj all could bowl a few overs if needed. It helps if a regular bowler has an off day. BacktoCricaddict and Mosher 2

Apart from being tough for part timers, these guys are not making effort themselves by bowling in nets or ranji games that are heading towards draw. sachin use to bowl a lot in nets specially giving practice to other batters, dhoni use to start his nets by bowling clearly gill can bowl, action is smooth and looks like vary pace n length.....but he needs to take this more srsly this looks very casual he bowls in nets they all shud be told by TM n selectors to start rolling their arms in nets every day Vickydev and express bowling 2
Majestic Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 They can try part time options for some time but need to groom a new all-rounder. The good part of Pandya not bowling is that atleast we have a chance to groom a new all-rounder at no.7 for now. Once he starts bowling, we will have the luxury of two all-rounders and Pandya won't have to bother much about his bowling then as he can continue to bat at 6 and bowl just 5-6 overs. His primary suit is anyways batting and can look to take that average close to 35.
