INTENT

A 35 ye old Dhawan is back for T20s. That should tell you the foresight and future planning by this TM. They will just not trust anyone else even if it means no trophies. Younger guys always face the chop while captain's buddies have a secure place.

This is a bad phase for him where he isn't at his best.

not being at his best is not got to do with age or injury its about lack of intent

He is scoring but he isn't timing it the way he does

Nothing wrong with his timing- this is not struggling for timing

.kohli was always a anchor for the ODI team but even if he didn't scored at quick pace at the start he always middled the ball even when he was taking the single but in last few matches there were so many false shots because the timing isn't there and it isn't there because he is infact going through a rough phase where he isn't scoring the way he used to but even in that he is scoring runs .

thats coz captaincy s taking a toll on his batting slowly slowly

Today the shot he got out he hit that pretty well but couldn't get the desired elevation that could have been a four any day, are we seriously comparing ourselves with england or australias batting !!....England's legspinner can't recall his name his name he once came in at number 9 got a partnership with buttler that taken there score from 270 to 400 ,in Australia there number 10 can bat where our tail starts from number 7 in the name of jadeja and we have to accept that we don't have that kind riches if we can't then I don't know what to say, send icfers in domestic cricket and tell them to be a power hitter ,in 2014 we have chased 360 in Jaipur in 42.3 overs and 350 in Nagpur just remember that we can compare so much as much we have resources .

here is the solution to the problem , Icerfs knows domestic more then indian selectors

1st need to accept that there is a problem

2nd leave emotions aside coz u cant keep eating pizza and think about reducing weight. None of top 3 are changing approach so one which most likely wud be dhawan his options needs to be looked at

3rd find option that brings something that he wasnt and make sure that u stick to the hard call , but 1st decide that u wanna take hard call or not which also means if alternate fails go to next one not back the one dropped

So according to a certain poster Joke of a kaptaan can ride on his hollow stats for his continuous failures these days just because he scored 70 international centuries in the past and keep misleading:phehe:this side

Is that right "certain" poster?

 "Certain poster bol na"

im talking about replacing one among top 3 ur giving me names of all rounders or lower middle order

For starters Dhawan shudnt play in t20, give samson a run till rohit gets back

There is a lot wrong with his timing ,the singles used to be very crisp but in the last few innings there has been a lot of false stroke even in nz series.

Hard to use IPL in Emirates as a yardstick for ODIs in Australia.

I didn't use IPL as a yardstick by any means ,I don't even follow ipl that much it's a cricket for entertainment though I love watching some young fast bowler ,in this ipl I loved watching tyagi bowl he reminds me 9f certain gentleman named shawn tait

I can agree with that dhwan shouldn't be playing t20 even rohit shouldn't be as well only kohli as a anchor who will hold the batting together iyer also be out of t20 but one thing is for sure we don't have many sehwags in our history. But to change approach in odi cricket we need batting depth england after so many years of struggle has found the mantra in loi cricket, in search of improvement if we chop and change too much we will be like the old nz they did that too much ages ago and paid the price.I still remember not to long ago eng had a odi batting line up of cook ,trot ,bell and many more of that mould.

u think england wud play differently if archer n woakes are injured

Or ATG australia who played any different with even main players resting

Chopping n changing is when u do to much, u need to identify problem n select right players anc back them.

Our ODi cricket is outdated and a change is needed somewhere

As many of you already pointed out, the problem runs much deeper than intent.
India did come out with Intent in the first game and realized they can lose quick wickets. They tried to temper it a bit down in the next game but 390 is too much to chase considering India doesn’t bat deep.

The issue is the resources we have rather than intent. Australia’s 4 & 5 th bowlers can complete 10 overs & take wickets in the process. BONUS. Saini & Chahal can’t complete 10 let alone take wickets. This is a serious problem, considering they can’t bat. We can’t win against ENA without solving this problem .

the problem with our batting is it’s conventional. Teams can make plans for that style of batting and especially when you are chasing 350+. Unlike smith & maxwell who can play unconventional shots, making it difficult to set a field and hold a line. India needs someone like Pant with consistency, again a resource problem.

India also has a problems in the fielding department chahal, saini, gabbar, & even your so called best fielders like jadega & kohli are drooping sitters.

You can’t solve resource problems with intent. We just need a better group of players. Unfortunately we can’t get them unless we try new combinations. Virat & Sasthri don’t seem interested in trying.

If they don't have wokes they will have sam and tom Curran, that's the thing all of them can bat and we don't have that ,to create changes in approach we need that kind of situation and resources which sadly we don't have .If we have to be aggressive we have make changes gradually because what I can see there is not much there better than these 15 individuals in our country and just like pant many more so called talented individual will be  exposed in Intl cricket. In gangulys era it took half a decade to find a decent wicket keeper batsman, furthermore I've already said virat might not be the best captain going around but his batting isn't really up for debate he might be having a bad phase but he shouldn't be the only one  counted for every defeat , I hope everyone will stop this gambhir bias all over the social media .

The problem is not intent. We simply don't have batsmen who can chase 390 total. We lost the game due to bowling and fielding.

We batted very well today, 389 was always too much to chase. From last 2 years, Kohli has been batting at this gear only. We can't copy England style of batting. They have Roy and Bairstow at top, Morgan, Stokes and Buttler in middle order. All of them are explosive and can hit sixes at will.

We need to improve our bowling and fielding rather than learning how we can chase a 350+ total.

sam curran wont play as main bowler , Tom ok but then again their batsman approach is always like that

1 out of 3 is gradual change , im not asking for 3 out of 3

and i just remembered this

Worst display of intent by our batting- this was the day it was clear we aint winning this world.....

390 and 375 are un-chasable but this was far more manageable
