Rahane’s last 100 was at Melbourne during Boxing Day test in 2014. Y’day, he hit a 100 after 6 years in SENA in a Boxing Day test.

Will Rahane, who is in form, hit more 100s in the series and make it a big one like Kohli and Pujara in earlier series? Or will this be his last 100 in SENA as his career will not last 6 more years?

This will be a legendary performance if we manage to win the test. Many a great knock has been forgotten when the player ended up on the losing side. Since the previous Melbourne knock we have won only 4 tests in SENA. The current knock can be potentially match defining and the statistical rarity of SENA wins coupled with the utter demoralization of 36 all out should make this stuff of legend. Irrespective of where Rahane's career ends up this is a performance for which he may be remembered for a long long time. Only if we win that is

The thread is on hoping for consistency and a big series from a senior player (like Kohli in 2014 and Pujara in 2018 for e.g) and making a series big when in form .... Ind has had players step in now and then to conjure up a win for e.g. Agarkar got a 5-er in Adelaide, Pujara-Kohli- bowlers in SA, SDP (Hardik) in Eng, ....

His chanceless lords 100 in 2014 will still remain his greatest in an absolutely green track. And strangely Jadeja played a blinder as well in second innings in same test..

That was also a brilliant knock. However the circumstances around the current knock deserves some extra points.

Yes but only if India wins. India won the lords test. If india wins in mcg then yes

I just have a bad feeling that he will get out cheaply in first session. Rahane will give you many chances and I doubt the Aussie players will screw up again. Yesterday, was an off day in the field.

That and I still have doubt about 2nd innings bowling and batting of the team. We were doing okay until we batted 2nd time in 1st test. This team is still capable of imploding if 2-3 quick wickets fall.
